My experience ranges from accessory design for Louis Vuitton, spatial design for luxury brands and production with 10 years behind me and over 30 brands in my portfolio. As someone who’s grown up between two cultures, it was such an honour to supply the rug for @directordero debut show “Bound by Two Home”. We’re both British-Iranian, and when she first shared her work with me, I felt deeply connected - to her and to the project. She captured the beauty of both cultures with such power and care. Bea’s work speaks to anyone who’s ever felt in-between. And on the night of the opening, in a warm room filled with people, laughter, and love from all walks of life, the message was clear: being bound by two homes is a gift - and something to be celebrated. The first image of Bea and her lovely mum on our Persian rug is just my favourite thing ever ❤️💐 Proud of you.

What does it mean to exist between two worlds, never quite belonging to either? British-Iranian artist @directordero explores this question in 'Bound by Two Homes,' her debut solo show that transforms the feeling of diaspora into a physical space of memory, culture, and connection. From her #haftsin in the gallery window to the layered soundscape of Iranian archives and poetry, Bea creates a warm, familiar environment that speaks to anyone who’s ever felt in between. What started as a personal exploration of identity grew into a collective experience—shaped by collaborators, artists, and a community who saw their own stories reflected in Bea’s. Close up views of 'Bound by Two Homes' in co-curation with @directordero When considering materials for this project, we wanted to make sure that the stories, feelings and ideas were communicated in a tangible way. Re-imagining a baby-cot gate, this serves as a symbol of a childhood perspective and the artist's need to protect her inner child. Utilising a garden trellis, we wanted to emphasise how her reworked images of childhood memories and family archives were the foundation of her photography series. This exhibition delves into @directordero 's photography series, which reflects her personal journey of embracing dual identity, memory, and nostalgia. We collaborated closely to bring these themes to life, focusing on how we can communicate beyond just the image itself. We paid special attention to sizing, materiality, and placement—key elements that shape the viewer's experience and establish a deeper connection with the work. A special thanks to @thamescarpets for providing their stunning Persian rugs, which played a vital role in creating a homely atmosphere and transforming the space. This addition allowed us to invite the audience in, shifting their experience from passive observers to active participants. Thank you to everyone who visited!
