A conjunction of the word’s female, humanoid or female, android “foids” exact origins are unknown. Initially rising to prominence in the 2010’s on Reddit threads such as r/justneckbeardthings, r/NotHowGirlsWork and r/Incel, foid rejects women as subjects, recasting them as hypergamous obstacles or resources. Remember girls, culture isn’t your friend ;)

A film-screening and curated exhibition that explores the visual language of the digital space. The project plans to disrupt the conventional understanding of the high art gallery scene by bridging the gap between visual conversations online and high brow establishments. The exhibition and screening is a curated collaborative approach featuring artists of many disciplines, reflecting a collective experience, and exposing the digital language as a legitimate form of self expression – talking to the world like we talk to each other.
Aiming to deconstruct the hierarchies of visual language and through this, legitimise the shared experience of contemporary digital culture and the simultaneously, joyous and dystopian landscape of the internet. 💚💚💚
