SLIME CITY is an ongoing anti-facial recognition research project straddling the physical and the science-fictional. The work is an interrogation of the surveillance state we exist within, an attempt to disrupt the unconsensual recording and storing of our biometric data on a daily basis.
This current prototype exists as a 3D printed custom head covering crafted by slime mold. It is a speculative interspecies collaboration; through becoming one, both human and slime transcend their physical boundaries to become undetectable in heavily surveilled society.

by Wenhui Lim @niceaunties
Wed the 13th of May | 6-8pm
RHB 137a, Goldsmiths University of London
Hosted by Creative Technology
Staff and students are warmly invited to join us for a special evening talk and discussion, as part of the summer sessions hosted by the Creative Technology subject area within the MA/MFA Computational Arts programme.
Our guest is niceauntiesĀ -Ā the practice of Singapore-based artist and designer Wenhui LimĀ -Ā whose world-building project AuntieverseĀ uses generative AI to reimagine āauntiesā (a community of women from Asian communities) as the protagonists of contemporary culture. The work combines surrealism, kawaii aesthetics and social commentary to explore cultural preservation, environmental degradation, and the politics of representation -Ā raising important questions about creative AI practice that speak directly to our research and teaching community.
Wenhui has presented the AuntieverseĀ internationally at the V&A London, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Denmark), and the AI Action Summit at the Grand Palais, Paris (2025). Her work has been featured in Forbes, The Guardian and The Straits Times, and she currently has a solo exhibition, Auntiescapes, on view at LCAD, Barcelona (7 May ā 15 August 2026).
At the end of the last day of the amazing Electronic Music Computing and Technology BMus/BSc Degree Show, a feature of the divine performance by Jiawei Chong @iiillliiiillllliiii using his incredible creation, a custom-built electroacoustic musical instrument, along with light and shadows by Image Alchemist Ru @visuals_ru
The result is a compelling and immersive audiovisual spectacle, subtle, immersive and masterly performed.

EMCT Master Class proudly presents Gabriel Prokofiev
EMCT MASTER CLASSES offer a fresh perspective on electronic music inviting scientists, artists, technologists and wizards who are at the forefront of Electronic Music, Computing and Technology. Curated by @eleonoraoreggia x @gold.computing
Thursday 7 May 2026 \0/ ALL WELCOME
St James Hatcham Church
4pm - 5pm >> EMCT Master Class: Gabriel Prokofiev
5.15pm - 6pm >> Pecha Kucha EMCT/CC/GAMES
6pm - 7pm >> DRINKS + PERFORMANCES + INSTALLATIONS + GAMES ARCADE
Gabriel Prokofiev is composer of classical and electronic music, and the founder & artistic director of Nonclassical record label and events (in 2004). Gabriel holds a unique position at the cross-roads between classical and electronic music. His compositions instinctively combine his contrasting backgrounds in underground electronic music, contemporary classical and traditional European classical.
His music first gained international recognition when his genre defying Concerto for Turntables no.1 was performed at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall in 2011, a work that has gone on to become one of the most performed 21st century contemporary concertos.
Through Nonclassical, he has been one of the leading proponents of presenting classical music in non-traditional venues. As artistic director he has curated and produced over 100 events with Nonclassical, from intimate classical-club nights, to big orchestral ware-house happenings, mainly in the UK, but also with touring Nonclassical events in USA, Latvia, Germany, Austria, Hong Kong, Seoul and more.
His live performances of electronics alongside classical ensembles & orchestras, and unique DJ-sets appeal to both classical fans, who are looking for music that genuinely connects to contemporary life; and electronic music fans who are looking for new directions in electronic music.
In 2026, Gabriel co-founded āProkofiev Studiosā, a new culturally open, multi-format space for the creative communities of Hackney.
Gabriel will talk about his experiences and ideas on: electronic music, combining it with the contrasting world of classical music; navigating career as a composer and founding Nonclassical!

We are delight to welcome curator and researcher Iris Long as our Guest Speaker for the āHidden Veinsā Walk & Talk tomorrow, 2 May.
Departing from a conventional seated lecture, this session is designed as a site-specific, moving dialogue. As we navigate the exhibition space together, Iris will bring her extensive research on technological infrastructures and digital ecologies into direct contact with the artworks on display.
The walk will examine the politics behind the āinvisibilityā of digital infrastructures and discuss how digital art can genuinely intervene in public and political life. Following the guided walk, the session will transition into an Open Conversationāa collective discussion inviting the audience, guest speaker, and student artists to think out loud together.
We invite you to join us for this insightful afternoonļ¼ļ¼ļ¼

Delighted to be back on the Lumen Prize jury for 2026!
The Lumen community holds computational and digital art practice to account - refusing practice as spectacle and mitigating tech-adjacent surface patterning by creating the conditions for a legitimate site of critical and political inquiry.
My investment in this space goes beyond the institution. As a curator and educator dedicated to supporting artists who are building critical enquiry and computational (re)-imaginaries at the intersection of networked strategies, code, infrastructure, and art practice across the porous edges of a responsive curriculum is where the compelling work evolves.
Students, alumni: submit your work! Entries close 23 May.

Introducing the Lumen Prize Jury Panel
The Lumen Prize is built on a rigorous, two-stage judging process.
Our International Selectors Committee reviews every submission and curates a shortlist of exceptional works, identifying our finalists.
These finalists are then critically evaluated by our Jury Pane, a group of leading voices across art, technology, and culture.
The Jury Panel selects the category winners and the prestigious Lumen Prize Gold Award, recognising the highest-scoring work across all entries and celebrating practices that bring creativity and innovation into genuine dialogue.
Please welcome The 2026 Lumen Prize Jury:
