SEAGER gallery presents a group exhibition Bestia Mirabilis .
Participating artists are Nikita Andrejev, Olivia Mieke Maria-Paulina Martha, Jake Bond, Rachel Barlow, Viviana Hayeong Jeon, Yilina Yang, and Fran Hayes.
The exhibition opens a portal into an imagined ecosystem shaped by abstract, surreal, and organic forms. Drawing on the language of ethereal growth, mutation, and universal natural structures, the artists create works that feel both familiar and alien. Their practices evoke a world where organic forms evolve beyond the limits of the known, revealing strange and mesmerising shapes that exist somewhere between the natural and the otherworldly.
Working across painting, sculpture, and digital media, the artists use abstraction and elements of surrealism to build a visual terrain where shape, texture, and colour become the building blocks of a speculative environment. Within the gallery, these forms extend beyond individual artworks, unfolding into an immersive installation that blurs the boundary between object and space. The exhibition becomes a landscape โ a living environment that invites viewers to step inside, wander, and encounter its strange inhabitants.
At its core, Bestia Mirabilis reflects on the beauty of the unfamiliar. Through formal exploration and organic abstraction, the exhibition proposes a meeting point between the material and the spiritual โ a place where the visible world opens onto something more elusive, and where the boundary between reality and imagination begins to dissolve.
Bestia Mirabilis unfolds through a series of live events that expand its world beyond the visual.
On 19 March, a group of poets will share the key to the ethereal world, featuring George Prigov, Fran Hayes, Karl Murphy, Lily Stevens, and Ruohui Zhang.
27 March is a Philosophy Night, inviting reflection on the ideas of art and creativity, as well as human response to that medium.
