Guest Talk Announcement ✨ 𝙉𝙄𝘾𝙀 𝘼𝙐𝙉𝙏𝙄𝙀𝙎 by Wenhui Lim @niceaunties Wed the 13th of May | 6-8pm RHB 137, Goldsmiths University of London Hosted by Creative Technology Staff and students are warmly invited to join us for a special evening talk and discussion, as part of the summer sessions hosted by the Creative Technology subject area within the MA/MFA Computational Arts programme. Our guest is niceaunties -  the practice of Singapore-based artist and designer Wenhui Lim -  whose world-building project Auntieverse uses generative AI to reimagine "aunties" (a community of women from Asian communities) as the protagonists of contemporary culture. The work combines surrealism, kawaii aesthetics and social commentary to explore cultural preservation, environmental degradation, and the politics of representation -  raising important questions about creative AI practice that speak directly to our research and teaching community. Wenhui has presented the Auntieverse internationally at the V&A London, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Denmark), and the AI Action Summit at the Grand Palais, Paris (2025). Her work has been featured in Forbes, The Guardian and The Straits Times, and she currently has a solo exhibition, Auntiescapes, on view at LCAD, Barcelona (7 May – 15 August 2026).

EMCT Master Class proudly presents Gabriel Prokofiev EMCT MASTER CLASSES offer a fresh perspective on electronic music inviting scientists, artists, technologists and wizards who are at the forefront of Electronic Music, Computing and Technology. Curated by @eleonoraoreggia x @gold.computing Thursday 7 May 2026 \0/ ALL WELCOME St James Hatcham Church 4pm - 5pm >> EMCT Master Class: Gabriel Prokofiev 5.15pm - 6pm >> Pecha Kucha EMCT/CC/GAMES 6pm - 7pm >> DRINKS + PERFORMANCES + INSTALLATIONS + GAMES ARCADE Gabriel Prokofiev is composer of classical and electronic music, and the founder & artistic director of Nonclassical record label and events (in 2004). Gabriel holds a unique position at the cross-roads between classical and electronic music. His compositions instinctively combine his contrasting backgrounds in underground electronic music, contemporary classical and traditional European classical. His music first gained international recognition when his genre defying Concerto for Turntables no.1 was performed at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall in 2011, a work that has gone on to become one of the most performed 21st century contemporary concertos. Through Nonclassical, he has been one of the leading proponents of presenting classical music in non-traditional venues. As artistic director he has curated and produced over 100 events with Nonclassical, from intimate classical-club nights, to big orchestral ware-house happenings, mainly in the UK, but also with touring Nonclassical events in USA, Latvia, Germany, Austria, Hong Kong, Seoul and more. His live performances of electronics alongside classical ensembles & orchestras, and unique DJ-sets appeal to both classical fans, who are looking for music that genuinely connects to contemporary life; and electronic music fans who are looking for new directions in electronic music. In 2026, Gabriel co-founded ‘Prokofiev Studios’, a new culturally open, multi-format space for the creative communities of Hackney. Gabriel will talk about his experiences and ideas on: electronic music, combining it with the contrasting world of classical music; navigating career as a composer and founding Nonclassical!

We are delight to welcome curator and researcher Iris Long as our Guest Speaker for the ”Hidden Veins“ Walk & Talk tomorrow, 2 May. Departing from a conventional seated lecture, this session is designed as a site-specific, moving dialogue. As we navigate the exhibition space together, Iris will bring her extensive research on technological infrastructures and digital ecologies into direct contact with the artworks on display. The walk will examine the politics behind the ”invisibility“ of digital infrastructures and discuss how digital art can genuinely intervene in public and political life. Following the guided walk, the session will transition into an Open Conversation—a collective discussion inviting the audience, guest speaker, and student artists to think out loud together. We invite you to join us for this insightful afternoon!!! 📅 Date: Saturday, 2 May 📍 Venue: St James Hatcham Building, SE14 6AD 🔗 Discover more about Iris Long‘s practice: www.irislong.xyz] Programme Schedule: ▫️ 13:30 | Doors Open ▫️ 14:00 | Walk Begins ▫️ 14:30 | Open Conversation ▫️ 14:55 | Audience Q&A ▫️ 15:10 | Close #hiddenveins #irislong #goldsmiths #digitalart #artandinfrastructure

Reflecting on last term’s Motion Capture & Digital Embodiment module at Goldsmiths, University of London. Thank you to the students for the work, the ideas, and the level of commitment throughout. This year’s projects explored how movement translates into digital space, from performance capture and avatar design to deeper questions of presence, control and interaction. What stands out each time is the willingness to test, to iterate, and to work through the complexity of translating the body into data, and back again into experience. That process consistently reveals the unexpected - whether finding beauty in computing glitches or uncovering something essential about what makes us human. A real pleasure to guide and learn alongside you all. Thank you. @clemencedebaig_art @goldsmithsuol @gold.computing #Goldsmiths #MotionCapture #DigitalEmbodiment #CreativeTechnology #XR UnwiredDance

SAVE YOUR DATE for Thursday 30th April! The BSc Digital Arts Computing cohort presents their degree show, ‘Hidden Veins’, exploring the self-organised systems of our own fleshy bodies as a metaphor for the broader, complex structures that quietly influence the world around us today. Working at the hybrid edges of art and technology, the works presented span sculpture, multimedia installation, performance, and immersive soundscapes, each confronting their own unique systems that are rarely questioned and yet dictate our everyday movements. Together, these works form an intersecting network of their own, becoming the hidden veins of the current media landscape; shaping from within existing structures. They form a collective crucial in exploring the concealed systems that shape our world. #digitalartscomputing #digitalarts #degreeshow

Thank you to the students for the work, the ideas, and the level of commitment throughout. The projects this year pushed into genuinely interesting territory, from interaction design and narrative structure to how audiences move, think, and participate within a space. What stands out each time is the willingness to test, to iterate, and to take risks - this will always deliver compelling work. A real pleasure to guide and learn alongside you all. Thank you. @clemencedebaig_art @goldsmithsuol @gold.computing #Goldsmiths #ImmersiveTheatre #EscapeRoomDesign #CreativeTechnology XR InteractiveDesign UnwiredDance
