Three artists. Three countries. One listening practice. THREE FIELDS brought together Deepa Reddy, Kaajal Modi, and Samukelisiwe Siphesihle Dube in a remote collaboration that asked: what do we hear when we listen to spices speak? At EyeMyth Delhi 2026, their prototype installation invited visitors to put on headphones and enter binaural soundscapes rooted in ecology, food migration, and the stories that travel with ingredients across continents and generations.

THREE FIELDS was an international digital arts collaboration bringing together artists, cultural organisations and creative technologists across India, South Africa and the UK to explore environmentally conscious creative digital practices. Artists Kaajal Modi (@casualmouldy ), Deepa Reddy (@paticheri ), and Samukelisiwe Siphesihle Dube (@samukelisiwe_siphesihle ) chose to use binaural sound to weave stories of migration, preservation, exchange and distribution together. The prototype artwork creating an embodied, resonant experience without the environmental impact of other VR/AR technologies. You can now explore the soundscapes online, with an introduction from each artist. 🔗 Link in bio THREE FIELDS was an international co-commission between Abandon Normal Devices, Arts Catalyst, Fak’ugesi, Fast Familiar and Unbox. Funded by the British Council’s International Collaboration Grants and supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

We’ve created an audio-described introduction for See Me Appear, guiding listeners through the artwork currently on show at @tattonpark and offering insights from Studio @peut_porter . You may want to listen to the track if you are visually impaired or unable to attend the exhibition in person. It is an invitation for anyone to connect with See Me Appear beyond the physical spaces it occupies. Thank you to Vicky Ackroyd from Totally Inclusive People and our Access Consultant Kate Fox for their care and collaboration in bringing this element of the artwork to life. You can access the introduction during your visit to exhibition Beyond the View: Canaletto at Tatton Park, or on our website. 🔗 Link in bio Images: Chris Foster

How can we centre sustainable practices as part of an international collaboration? With @fastfamiliarstudio , @unboxculturalfutures , @fakugesi and @artscatalyst we collectively experimented with a framework that centred sustainability, access and co-creation within digital artistic practice as part of THREE FIELDS. As part of this collaboration, we presented a soundscape created by artists @paticheri , @casualmouldy and @samukelisiwe_siphesihle as part of @eyemythfestival in March, and will be archived online on our low carbon THREE FIELDS website. As the project comes to a close, @fastfamiliarstudio ’s Dan Barnard, artist facilitator for THREE FIELDS, takes us through our experiments in sustainable practices on our blog. 🔗 Link in bio.

Getting ready! Next week is the opening of See Me Appear @tattonpark . As a studio we are deeply invested in both digital & physical making practices. They should not be understood seperatly - and this project has allowed us to really hone in on that. Its been tremendous fun to see the wildly imaginary balloon sketches of Gusmão from Lisbon 1718 come to life through 3D modelling and printing it as a prop that will invite our audiences to fly over the alps to venice in our Augmented reality dreamscapes. Or to craft a contemporary version of the Harlequino mask which ysed to be a central element of la comédia dell'arte in the 18th century. Reinventing history, we are deeply fascinated by the huge socio-political role masks have played in 17th century europe... More on that soon! And yes there will be virtual try-ons of the masks...

Now on the Three Fields blog: Soil, Spice, and Sound, a blog post exploring food migration, international collaboration, and the journey of cinnamon by Samukelisiwe Dube (@samukelisiwe_siphesihle ). “When I first entered the Three Fields project, I thought I was coming in with a clear understanding of what food meant in my practice. I garden. I make paper from plant fibres. I print with organic materials. I learned from the Black women in my family that food is never just food, that it is care, survival, memory, and sometimes resistance. But this project stretched that understanding...” Available to read now - link in our bio.

For #InternationalWomensDay, we’re reflecting on the many women whose stories were never documented but deserve to be heard. ✨💬 As part of Beyond the View: Canaletto, See Me Appear imagines the voices of Beatrix, Hester, and Elizabeth Egerton (women who lived here between the 1600s and 1700s). Through immersive technology, created by female-led design studio @peut_porter , their stories are re‑envisioned to show how easily women’s experiences can fade from the historical record. 📜 We hope this artwork sparks conversations about women and girls using technology as a tool for storytelling, creativity, and reclaiming space in history. 💡📱 Book tickets to view the full exhibition 🔗 .uk/Canaletto

In January, @peut_porter opened their studio to present a work in progress of See Me Appear, exploring the digital activation of three women who lived at Tatton Park Estate: Beatrix, Hester, and Elizabeth Egerton. See Me Appear will soon unfold across @tattonpark Mansion, where Augmented Reality experiences and handcrafted physical artefacts will act as portals into the imagined realities of the Egerton women. Experience See Me Appear as part of Tatton Park’s landmark exhibition, Beyond the View: Canaletto, opening 28 March. Book your tickets on Tatton Park’s website. Link in bio. Image: Dave Holbrook

In her blog post, researcher and artist Deepa Reddy @paticheri explores the cultural and botanical history of black pepper as part of the Three Fields collaborative project. Deepa traces pepper from its origins on the Malabar coast to its current status as a global commodity, stripped of its original context. Through an installation involving toddy palm leaf paper and binaural soundscapes, she reassembles fragments of the past found in Sangam-period poetry. The project seeks to restore our sensory and ecological connection to this ‘common’ spice, making history an accessible resource for the present. Read the full reflection on food migration and memory at the link in bio. THREE FIELDS is an international collaboration between Arts Catalyst (@artscatalyst ), AND (@abandon_normal_devices ), Unbox Cultural Futures (@unboxculturalfutures ), Fakugesi (@fakugesi ), and Fast Familiar (@fastfamiliarstudio ), and is supported by British Council (@britishcouncil ).
