stratus is a new event series dedicated to soundsystem music outside of club spaces :: music for listening, for gathering, for absorbing, for diving into.
for our third event, we return to Pallas Gallery, the cozy space on Geary St. (between Franklin & Van Ness) where we launched stratus earlier this year. this is an afternoon-evening affair: doors open at 4 p.m. and we wrap at 10 p.m.
we’re excited to present a special DJ set from Gi Gi, the versatile producer-selector known for enveloping sounds—downtempo, trip-hop, half-time, drifting melodies and deep bass—on labels like Ways Inner Pass, Good Morning Tapes, and INDEX:Records.
hosts llloyd & DJ CZ will set the resonance early on, selecting sounds for inward gaze and focused listening.
our friend and talented chef Nupoor will return, serving a delicious meal (meat & veg options available) around eveningtime. if you’d like to enjoy a bite, please pre-order your meal through RA—it helps us prepare the right amount of food :)

SOSO presents the first in a series of fall/winter parties - for those familiar with the LIDO series at @washingtonbaths , SOSO is a progression/expansion of its ethos and spirit, taking on new collaborative form.
We invite Texan native bliss spiller Gi Gi (@gi____gi_____ ), cult selector and underground favorite, known for his nuanced approach to DJing and production, with a penchant for sculpting sets out of a wide range of material. Gi Gi deals in rhythmic sublimation, both high energy and introspective, making his sets a treat for any listener in the club or at home.
Alongside our special guest, resident dj Jin (@gougousaria ) and mid-coast staple Anomali (@ringingchanges ) kick off the night - not to be missed.
Showcasing the full spectrum of his sound, Gi Gi will be gracing the lounge at the Washington Baths the following day (9.28) for Ambient Hours - catch him delivering the perfect dose of post-dance downtempo steamers.

Misc's downtempo and trip-hop lounge 𝐌𝐞𝐳𝐳𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞 returns on Saturday June 27, with a double live headliner of 𝑱 𝑴𝒄𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒆'𝒔 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑮𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕 and 𝑶𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑱𝒐𝒆.
𝑱 𝑴𝒄𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒆'𝒔 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑮𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕 has been around and excellent forever, but it's their 2024 release 'Whoopee' that planted them firmly in the Mezzanine zone. Smokey pop vignettes underpinned by dusty, slo-mo breakbeats. Chic and sleek.
𝑶𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑱𝒐𝒆 unofficially releases his new album 'Flawless' at Mezz, performing with a five-piece supergroup. While the musical polymath might be known as "Australia's Huerco S", we think 'Flawless' might be the zenith of his work, a collection of downtempo tracks with shoegaze textures, IDM details, and classic Other Joe warmth.

so stoked to be heading to denver tomorrow for a special valentine’s day show with the orange ray of light that is @laraaji_official - like a lot of us i think, his influence looms large for me so feeling very grateful to get to share music alongside him, in a historic venue such as the aztlan theatre no less. i’ll be bookending his performance with two mirrored dj sets, taking the energy up before & back down after with additional support from locals @foans_music & @_____al______x on the front end. thanks so much to @caracolprod@caveweapons for making it happen 🧡 ∞ love
