For context about this collection of films: Exactly one year ago I went through a devastating breakup. The period that followed was an intense searching. For a way to numb myself, to distract. Made so much creative/film work to figure out what was going inside of my head because it didn’t feel like I could say what I wanted to say to the person I’d really wanted to talk to. Ultimately, culminating in a really sobering phone call I’d made to my ex in January. Ripped me to shreds but I absolutely needed it. I wanted to capture that feeling of pouring your heart out to someone and essentially putting your self respect aside to just say exactly how you feel and the other person brushing it aside. The process of shooting this was so incredibly intimate. A small crew of my friends, some old, some new - helping me craft and visualize this thing that happened to me in real life onto the screen. No cuts, no soundtrack or score. Just a guy with a phone, the words, and the love you have for someone who doesn’t want it anymore. The other three films will be released over the course of the next few weeks/months that are all aligned with the tone of this piece and has a thread throughout.
