Long overdue - mas vale tarde que nunca! Recordando lo que fue mi exposición El Lugar del Museo, en @galerialocontador a principios de año. Con un texto curatorial de @alejandra_celedon_arq y el fabuloso auspicio de @epsonlatinoamerica , los muros de la sala tomaron vida para contener una reflexión a partir de un mapa taxonómico sobre mi trabajo y referencias. En el contexto del seminario sobre André Malraux de @culturas_cl @subsepatrimonio #RencontresMalraux2025 dejo aqui parte del pensamiento, proceso, resultado y activación. - “¿Cuál es el rol de la comunicación visual operando fuera y dentro del cubo blanco?: ¿qué preservamos?, ¿cuáles narrativas construimos, dónde, con qué medios y para quiénes? El Lugar del Museo se vuelve un ensayo de orden, una narrativa posible para representar el mundo, un microcosmos y, a la vez, un espejo de la cultura. Los ejemplos que se exhiben repasan el trabajo y proceso de Gaggero y dan cuenta de cómo el diseño es capaz de rearticular la memoria en imágenes, reactivar relaciones entre la comunicación visual y las instituciones, entre las instituciones y personas. Las distintas imágenes son unidas por la memoria y asociaciones al modo del Atlas Nemosyne de Warburg o El Museo Imaginario de Malraux desplazando la pregunta sobre qué es un museo, para entender cuál es su lugar. As half of London, last week I paid a visit to the absolutely stunning new @vam_east Storehouse. It redefines what a museum, a collection and an archive is. It’s a fabulous shock to the system 💎So much to talk about this emblematic project, but for now, I’ll leave you with two very special things: 1. Amongst the exhibited objets there is a chapter on exhibition design; within - and sitting quietly but proudly - our designs for the V&A story project (images 4, 5,6 & 7)🥹💎💅🏼 And 2. The @robynlynchireland bespoke vest uniform is truly something else ♥️ Special mention to the wonderful signage system from @fieldworkfacility In a nutshell: 10/10 💎

“Minerasophia: Underground Cycles” representa a Chile en la Bienal de Diseño de Londres. La instalación propone una experiencia sensorial en torno a una estructura circular que evoca un portal a través de la tierra, donde se proyecta una obra audiovisual. A su alrededor, vitrinas exhiben minerales, relaves, piedras semipreciosas y sales de litio. Creada por la artista y arquitecta Mále Uribe junto a la diseñadora Constanza Gaggero, la obra busca repensar la industria extractivista y re significar el valor del territorio como un archivo vivo de memorias geológicas 〰️ “Minerasophia: Underground Cycles” represents Chile at the London Design Biennale. The installation offers a sensorial experience centered around a circular structure that evokes a portal through the earth, where an audiovisual piece is projected. Surrounding it, display cases exhibit minerals, tailings, semiprecious stones, and lithium salts. Created by artist and architect Mále Uribe together with designer Constanza Gaggero, the work seeks to rethink the extractive industry and reframe the value of the territory as a living archive of geological memories. Last Thursday we opened Minerasophia, Underground Cycles at the @londondesignbiennale with @gaggeroworks and @jotapevergara As an art and design research project, Minerasophia celebrates the wisdom of minerals as material entities that carry unique forms of heritage, natural and symbolic value. As an audiovisual portal, ‘Underground Cycles’ takes a deep look into the extractive landscapes and visual narratives of the Chilean territory, highlighting the long geological legacy of minerals as creators of the universe, and their potential to change the way we relate to the concepts of ‘value’ and ‘waste’. This project collaborated with T2CM form Universidad Católica, with whom we explored the use of copper tailings into new material objects and potentials. Open until the 29th of June.
