The best ideas come from shared conversations. We’re excited to welcome Functional Movement Systems as a Partner Sponsor for the Collegiate Fitness Directors Summit. At the Summit, partners aren’t on the outside looking in—they’re part of the experience, sitting at the table, engaging in dialogue, and building real connections with collegiate fitness leaders. We’re glad to have them as part of the conversation. 🤝

Currently reading The Business of Movement by Gray Cook 📚 As a rehabilitation therapist and personal trainer, I’m always researching and learning more about how the body moves and, most importantly, how we can protect ourselves from injury. Training isn’t just about pushing harder or lifting heavier. It’s about moving well, building strength correctly, and creating a body that functions better for everyday life. The more I learn, the more I can help my clients: ✅ Move better ✅ Reduce injury risk ✅ Improve mobility and stability ✅ Train smarter, not just harder ✅ Build long-term sustainable health I truly believe education never stops in this industry, and I’m passionate about continuing to grow my knowledge so I can give my clients the best support possible 💙 Always learning. Always evolving. #HarmonyFitness #GrayCook #TheBusinessOfMovement #RehabilitationTherapy #PersonalTrainer

The biggest part of post-op rehab is individualizing the care of the patient in front of you, while also honoring basic healing principles. More importantly, this means care should not be dependent on an outdated protocol telling what to do each session. • Sophie is laying down the foundation right now for the next few phases of rehab and checking off all the boxes we want to see. Mobility ✅ Strength ✅ Pain Free loading ✅ • We are beginning to incorporate tolerance to rotation as this is gonna be the biggest part of her sport with the goal of returning to softball, while also continuing to load her in various positions. Gonna come back to the circle better than she left it 🥎💪🏼 • #pt #physicaltherapy #rehab #softball #acl

FMS Nivel 1 y Nivel 2 en acción. Nivel 1: aprender a evaluar.

Achilles or calf issues? You may need better stability from other muscles. Find the issue. Fix it. Build strength. Proathletix.net

If you’re not assessing, you’re guessing‼️ 2️⃣ of the most common measurements I look at with every throwing athlete is thoracic spine rotation and should external rotation. (Among a lot of other things). Breakdown in either of these 2 ranges of motion are the most common root causes of either shoulder or elbow pain with throwers. These should be checked EVERY. SINGLE. SESSION. Eliminate the guess work. #pt #physicaltherapy #therapy #rehab #baseball

1. I'm super stoked about the new FMS quick screen by the good folks at @functionalmvmt 🤙 2. I'm officially a functional movement fitness model (if that's a thing?) ☑️ 3. Get screened. Get solutions. Stop following cookie cutter programs out there that upon generation have zero input on your competence with mobility, stability, balance, and overall functional movement.

Thoracic mobility will strongly affect shoulder mobility. While most people will just focus on the posterior of the torso, since it's closest to the spine, nobody is working on the anterior: the rib cage. If the ribs themselves can't move in relation to each other, the effects of releasing tension on the back will be inefficient. Use this foam rolling technique until you find a skilled therapist to release those adhesions. #RaiseTheAverage #shouldermobility #thoracicmobility #tspinemobility #sfma
