We are now back in London after what was a life-changing residency in Kilifi, Kenya.
We first wanted to thank Kilifi. It’s a stunning part of the world filled with some of the kindest, most welcoming and hospitable people you could meet. We would encourage all to visit who are able to. Kusimu will also continue to be one of our favorite clubs in the world and DJ LYTA is our new favorite DJ!
We will be eternally grateful to the 6 core artists who made the residency what it was. We were honored they decided to be a part of the project. They embraced the experience fully and created a very special bond as a group which you’ll hear in the music they’ve made together. Thank you
@fauzia.1 @yazminlacey @nkariuki_ @jkarri_ @izzycofie &
@setwun
We also need to thank Matt Swallow
@lastaglobal for his vision for the studio, and continued support and trust in the idea of our residency. The BTB team is family and we’re excited about the ideas we’ve been discussing for our continued collaboration. Lemi, Flava, Karim, Lewis, Krish and the rest of the amazing team at Baobabs Studio, you played such a huge part in our residency. Thank You, from all of us.
Thanks to all the incredible musicians we met in Kilifi and to Max at
@musicfromeastafrica for his guidance.
