Shot in Siena during the build-up and aftermath of the race, this series looks beyond the 90 seconds in the Campo. Each contrada carries centuries of rivalry, identity and pride, all condensed into a single moment.
For the people of Siena, it runs deeper than sport.

Photographed at Jan Hendzel Studio as Giles Tettey Nartey and Parti worked with the team to bring two ambitious pieces to life for American Hardwood.
‘Communion’ and ‘Pirouette’ both push what’s possible with solid maple – mixing fine craftsmanship with conceptual design.
Giles’ ‘Communion’ is a black-stained maple table with carved mortars and pestles built into its surface, inspired by the West African tradition of making fufu – a dish prepared through rhythmic pounding and shared labour. Parti’s ‘Pirouette’ takes the opposite approach: a series of twisting, folded maple forms that capture the movement of fabric in wood, shaped through a blend of digital precision and hand finishing.

I recently shot @alfamist for his new record Roulette, out this month. He wanted a moody, dystopian atmosphere, so we went out after dark and chased the night light.
