Xiaofu always carries a sense of lightness — like a cloud, able to shift into any shape, catching glimmers of light unreachable from the ground.
In late April 2025, I stayed for a few days at the studio-home she shares with two other friends. There, I caught a glimpse of the quiet order woven through her daily life and work. At the time, she was preparing for a solo exhibition opening in early July, and I took the opportunity to talk with her about what lies behind her life and creative process.
(The conversation was conducted in Chinese Mandarin.
English version was translated by the editor.)

Inhabitō 斋谈 began as a way to observe the connection between people and the environments they shape. I spent time with creators in their studios — some temporary, some lived-in, all personal — watching how their presence settled into the corners, how their work spilled into the room. Through these portraits and conversations, I hope to map something broader: how identity is expressed through space, and how space, in turn, reflects a way of being.
I see this as an ongoing archive of creative lives, rooted in observation, openness, and the desire to connect. Over time, I hope it weaves into something larger — a sense of community, layered and shaped by shared presence.
