Reverse applique, embroidery and the world’s most ambitious drug spoon 🪡🧵 The wonderful Alan Gregan shares some of his eclectic homemade jewellery, his journey into handmade clothes and the pieces he won’t allow to fall apart === Created from the Seasonal Shorts Festival 2025 prompt ‘Model’s Own’, this short film — directed by Crusoe Weston and produced by DRIFT Studio London - explores the clothes we keep, borrow, repair, pass down and hold onto. The pieces that quietly accumulate stories over time. Bringing together friends and creative collaborators, the project grew from conversations about the sentimental pieces in our wardrobes - garments collected, protected and sometimes remade. The completed film premiered at the Seasonal Shorts Festival 2025 - which returns again in 2026. Documenting the Marina Abramović takeover of Southbank Centre… In October 2023, DRIFT had the privilege of cataloguing the 11 artists stationed across the entirety of the Queen Elizabeth Hall – backstage and all – for a set of enthralling (four-day-long) durational performances, curated by conceptual artist Marina Abramović and MAI. Performance Videography: @arushi.chugh Interview Videography: @crusoeweston Interview Videography: @ali_ofg Shoot Producer: @liampatrickharrison Edit: @ethneleaver Photography: @petewoodhead The programme explored endurance, presence, and the evolving language of performance art - placing audiences in direct, unfiltered dialogue with the work. The takeover culminated in an interview with Abramović, reflecting on her life in performance, the origins and evolution of the form, and what lies ahead for the next generation of artists. Artists featured: Collective Absentia, Carla Adra, Cassils, Paula Garcia, Miles Greenberg, Sandra Johnston, Carlos Martiel, Yiannis Pappas, Paul Setúbal, Aleksandar Timotic and Despina Zacharopoulou. #MarinaAbramovic #PerformanceArt #SouthbankCentre #MAI #DurationalArt #ContemporaryArt #ArtDocumentary #LondonArts #BehindTheScenes #ArtFilm #CreativeProduction #ArtistInterview

An artist builds 🧱 An artist drinks 🍷 An artist serves 🍫 The Pretty Bricks, a bar by @kidbuckley and @rufie_rufe (serving wine from the tongue and chocolate milk from the bum) was erected especially for Artists Behind Bars at @thehorsehospital (London), curated by @kittyfiner (7/3/2026). A space where hospitality becomes performance: the bar is the artwork, the artist is the bartender, the audience is the punter. Artists Behind Bars a group show, where for one night shift only the bar is the work of art, the artist is the bartender and the spectator is the punter. Artists are invited to build, install, host and run their own bars. This collection of one night only bars - creates a total installation within a chosen space and brings together artists and audiences from the varied scenes in cities, from theatre and performance to visual art and club culture. — Want The Pretty Bricks at your party or event? It is constantly evolving and is full of wonderful people and beautiful places. I am really happy with how Leaward has captured this short moment in time” DOP @marcpritcharddop Thank you to: Leyla Amber Dave Paul Leo Mick Terri Matt Mike, Ruth & Liam Waterside Cafe Acropolis Grill The Anchor and Hope @mannions_n15 @livingunderonesun @markfieldbeamengine @lea_rc_hackney #Leaward #ShortDocumentary #OfficialSelection #SeedlingsFilmFest #RiverLea #Tottenham #CommunityVoices #DocumentaryFilmmaking

This is the story of a river ‘monster’... From the depths of the canal emerges onto the towpath our monster sets off to seek their fortune in the big city. Quickly fustigated by bureaucratic systems, angry river patrols and the weary rat race, our monstrous hero continues to swim against the current. But with a sad string of disappointments (misguided lonely hearts ads, multiple DVLA forms mulched by their eternal wetness), our monster considers returning to their watery home. Finally, by chance, they stumble across a late-night beauty parlour… The completed film will premiere at the @seasonalshorts Festival 2026 Thank you to everyone who stepped into the current with us. Looking back at one of DRIFT’s first projects - Portrait of the Isle of Kerrera. Based out of Oban for a week, DRIFT’s original founders Crusoe Weston and Ali White set out to explore some the Isle of Kerrera. Roughly 4.7 square miles with a population of 68 full-time residents (including 18 children). One of the tales collected was that of Olly Vollum and Eachann McGregor-Louw (aged 9) who in December 2019, with encouragement and training from their parents, undertook a fundraising swim across the Sound of Kerrera - raising money towards the restoration of the disused island schoolhouse, which both their mothers, Sheila and Gill, attended. The boys raised more than £5000 and became the youngest known swimmers to cross the Sound of Kerrera. The brave, community-minded feat opened up some wonderful interviews that touched on themes of motherhood, nature, history and the impactful lessons we pass down to the next generation.
