REFLECTIONS 🪩 Featured Artist Jackson Markovic
@jacksonmarkovic
Jackson Markovic’s Ode to the gay bar where I got an HIV test (2025) is a chaotic, psychedelic video composition that stitches together iPhone footage of Atlanta clubs, ballroom gatherings, and underground performances with staged scenes of friends dancing. The work honors nightlife as a site of care and public health while celebrating queer community through dirt, glitter, and joy. Shown during Pride, it underscores the role of LGBTQ+ spaces as essential centers of resilience, intimacy, and collective healing. In addition to his kaleidoscopic commission, Marcovic’s Baroque Sunbursts will be featured at Pullman Yards through the month of October (presented by Hawkins Headquarters
@hawkinsheadquarters ).
