Now on view 🌈🌿 ‘Alleywave: A Forest of You,’ designed by Sanithna Phansavanh (@sanithna ). ‘A Forest of You’ draws visual inspiration from the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, or “forest bathing,” a concept introducing calm through immersion in nature. Phansavanh’s designs bring this practice to downtown Fairburn, providing passersby a space to pause, reflect, and breathe beneath 119-feet of suspended panels suspended in the alleyway, personalized by returning community contributors Black Girls RUN!, Arlington Girl Scouts, and the New Beginnings Senior Center. On view through May 24, 2026. See more on ‘A Forest of You’ via our 🔗 in bio. 🎥: Footage and cover image by Crystal Alexis @crystal_alexisss

We think a lot about what it really means to fund creativity. Not just programs, but the space and conditions where something real can happen. That’s why we invested in the Mtamanika Youngblood Curator-In-Residence program. And, on April 16, 𝗛𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘆 became that space. More than 120 guests gathered for opening night of 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝘇𝗲. Curated by @tayssickthoughts , the exhibition featured work from: @estazaria @nissforshort @whateverjewel @moments_in_between___ @honeypierre_ Sounds by @nyahcami set the tone, and the night built from there. 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝘇𝗲 invited people to see womanhood from multiple angles, and to see themselves somewhere in it. But it was more than an opening. What we’re paying attention to is this: Did the artists lead the narrative? Did the audience see themselves in the work? Did the gallery become a site of connection and cultural exchange? On April 16 , yes. At HDDC, we believe art is one of the ways neighborhoods stay connected. Thank you to @dashboard_us , the artists, collaborators, and partners who helped make this opening possible. To be a part of what’s next, sign up for our newsletter at the link in bio. Did you know that ‘Woven Minds’ by Sayma Hossain (@saymaa.h ) is still on view at the Peachtree Creek Greenway Bridge? 🔹👀🔸 This integrated artwork was originally part of ‘Reflections in Color’ (2024), but was acquired by @brookhavengagov to remain on permanent view! The artwork’s translucent colors subtly echo the ambiguity found in nature, allowing light to pass through and merge with the environment. As the piece interacts with its natural surroundings, the shifting hues and shadows create a fluid dialogue with the changing daylight, emphasizing the tension between human emotion and nature’s calm, and offering a moment of reflection amidst the everyday hustle.
