March is National Kidney Month, and we’re proud to highlight an upcoming event led by one of our own.
Neko Northington, a Steering Committee member of the Reflections Collective, is helping lead Southern Santé through the National Kidney Foundation a signature culinary experience supporting kidney health and research.
At Reflections, we believe meaningful impact happens when trusted community organizations, advocates, and partners create spaces for education, awareness, and connection. Southern Santé represents that alignment in action.
This event directly supports kidney health during National Kidney Month and reflects the type of community-centered engagement we prioritize in our 2026 Kidney Disease focus area.
If you’re local, we encourage you to attend or share within your network.

Impacted by or interested in sickle cell disease and in Atlanta?
We are happy to support the MTS Sickle Cell Foundation Therapeutics Summit on April 18th.
It’s shaping up to be a powerful day of education, connection, and honest conversation and we’re proud to see members of the Reflections Collective showing up and leading in this space.
This is what it looks like when community, advocacy, research, and industry come together with purpose.
If sickle cell touches your life as a patient, caregiver, advocate, clinician, or supporter this space is for you.
Learn more. Show up. Be part of the conversation.

Reflecting on one year of growing together in Atlanta.
A year ago, Reflections began with one simple question. What if every community could see themselves reflected in research?
Since then, we’ve continued to listen and learn from the communities we serve, growing through every story shared. Along the way, more than 27 organizations have joined in, each committed to carrying the Reflections mission forward together.
Here’s to everyone who has looked into the mirror and seen themselves as part of the future of research. Comment what you think Reflections should bring to the Atlanta community in the next year (arrow down emoji)

REFLECTIONS 🪩 Featured Artist Jackson Markovic @jacksonmarkovic
Jackson Markovic’s Ode to the gay bar where I got an HIV test (2025) is a chaotic, psychedelic video composition that stitches together iPhone footage of Atlanta clubs, ballroom gatherings, and underground performances with staged scenes of friends dancing. The work honors nightlife as a site of care and public health while celebrating queer community through dirt, glitter, and joy. Shown during Pride, it underscores the role of LGBTQ+ spaces as essential centers of resilience, intimacy, and collective healing. In addition to his kaleidoscopic commission, Marcovic’s Baroque Sunbursts will be featured at Pullman Yards through the month of October (presented by Hawkins Headquarters @hawkinsheadquarters ).
