Been deep in a letterpress Artist Book project at @wsworkshop with the incredible team of @chrismpetrone and @zzona.erin - endless drawing and printing and proofing and binding interspersed with wandering these eastern hardwood forests with Early and pulling so many ticks off us. Very grateful that Earlyâs residency includes Nelson, self appointed mayor of WSW and companion of đ @sodapopvalentine and some wonderful dog loving interns. I have no cell service out here and intermittent internet, so Iâve been in a hermit like studio đł, emerging for the WSW daily potluck and short trips to dear friends.
Ya Es La Hora // Now is the Time. Hidden in the water it says: Alianza Interespecie Por Apoyo Mutuo (Interspecies Alliance for Mutual Aid). Made to support the incredible work of @descolonizapr Twelve layers and 20+ colors after broken studio AC, three bouts of broken heat, plumbing repair, ongoing car accident back/neck injury and all the other ways 2020 has continually been challenging. And yet, this print has brought back joy in the studio again after a summer of deep disorientation. Will be part of a fundraising effort in 2021! #slowart #queerecology #screenprint
Philly friends and community,Â
A group of Philly based queer artists/baddies have come together to organize a movie night series to raise money for the Movement of Immigrant Leaders in PA (MILPA) @milpa_familia . While the visibility of ICE has shifted, their tactics remain just as harmful. Families across our city are being torn apart and our community members are being kidnapped still and it is imperative to give our money to local organizarions that are supporting these families on the ground.Â
Please join us in sharing space, connecting, building together and pooling our resources to support MILPA.
Ticket prices for this event are on a sliding scale. Folks who pay at the highest tier will receive a free print by @candy_alexandra1 . Check out the event brite to learn more. Link below and in bio.

This is 46 in a beautiful greenhouse with â¨â¨companions. February is dark and this one, maybe the darkest itâs been. Hereâs to the coming spring and all the active and latent revolutionary spirit ready to burst forth with the sun.
In my final hours at @codexfoundation at the @incahootsresidency table! Come visit table 11 đđSo full of incredible artist books and good conversations and Vitamin D. Love you California and book art and dear ones.
Tyler Printmaking hit the road this weekend to table at our favorite Pittsburgh Art Book Fair @pghartbookfair !! Faculty @amzeland and @corinneteed brought work from their small presses Gather Around Projects and Vernal Pool Editions and also, from our fabulous grad students and publication projects. Pittsburgh was so good to us and fills the fair with curious and engaged print and book appreciators.
Thanks to everyone who volunteered and ran the fair!! And to our production team @jenaos and @abbeymeiotis for the support! And to all our grads who contributed new work and made genius publications over the years.
Two weeks in the Hudson Valley teaching letterpress and risograph at @wsworkshop â¨â¨â¨ Such enthusiastic, hardworking students, such good swimming, such good coworkers and such exhaustion. From collaborative risograph duotones to collaborative woodtype didactics, we spanned centuries in print history between the classes. The riso def did not not break, but we found our way through!
Thanks to everyone for the good energy you brought to the studios. And thanks to all the loves in the Hudson Valley who found me in the studio or the pool or the creek. And in the last image - grateful to always be unconsciously collaborating with @polinamalikin even when not in the same studio!
This July I am teaching classes with @wsworkshop in upstate NY! Join me in their beautiful studios for one of two classes: âRemixing the Archive: Manipulating Digitized Images for Risographâ and âBroadsides, Ballads, and Fables: Letterpress Printing with Type and Imageâ So excited to see what we can cook up together đđâď¸đđ
This weekâs zine feature is Corinne Teed and collaborator Maria Rebolleda-Gomezâs âthe unculturable majority,â a risograph zine currently on display in our Main Gallery as part of our 2022 & 2023 McKnight Book Artist Fellows exhibition. The zine - and Corinneâs other work currently on display - explores the connections between microbiology, queer ecology, and mutual aid.
The show closes in one week on Sunday, March 29th, so stop by for a closer look soon!
Itâs maybe printmaking and multiples that are getting me through right now. Very grateful to everyone who spends time in print studios with me đ𩷠Let me know if you need one of these dropped off or sent to you for your spirits!! #letterpress #demoday
