I’m calling my residency at Studio Two Three a roaring success in that I was burnt out before and now I’m not! Generosity and trust permeate this place. Also lots of great systems to learn from, some pictured here. Thank you @studiotwothree !
A degraded existence w this how we share- I had a post here w some pics of being a nerd in Maine and watching too much Outlander, the app deleted it possibly bc it said Free Palestine (?) There’s a chance I also maybe deleted it when I had a fever a while ago and just now noticed, will see if this narratively uninteresting collection of stand-ins for moments of real feeling gets taken away - FREE PALESTINE
I’m part of this panel on Friday at @sgcinternational conference, organized by @phyllismcgibbonstudio with @rubenbcastillo , sangmiyooliving, and @love.litho . Hope to see you there!
“Historically, printmaking has been a medium that encourages artists to look back (to earlier proofs) in order to look forward (to the next pull) when developing a print. This discussion considers a range of questions evoked for those artists whose starting point is independent archival research in a public archive. How might our working assumptions be verified (or upended) by close critical reading of materials found in an archive or print room? What kinds of ethical responsibilities might artists have when reading between the lines of historical material and drawing inspiration for our self-published projects?”
What is happening in Palestine (Gaza, West Bank, Israel) is Not too complicated for people to understand. The more we learn, the more obvious the power dynamic becomes.
Olives, pistachios, and carob: native trees that are destroyed and replaced by non-native pines as part of Israeli settlement, attempting to erase Palestinian presence and culture.
So pumped to have work in You Are Here journal: counter/cartographies issue! Read it online at bit.ly/46XGQ47, link to order a print copy is there as well.

I’m in good company in this show at @secondstatepress in Philadelphia. Check the other artists! (Tagged). Opening is 10/12- I’d be there if Philly was a little closer to WV.
HACkSofWV. It has been exciting seeing this space take shape. A lot of people have been working for several years to get this project going- organizing, supporting, creating systems, trusting each other, scraping floors, mopping, writing statements, negotiating with landlord(s), sharing their hotspot, giving feedback, plugging in and picking up the slack, showing up. If you recognize something from the mission statement it’s probably because we copied it from you- thanks to The Warp Collective, The Dirt Palace, and The Wurks (among other entities) for the guidance! No f—king comment on the last slide.
Footage Record opens Saturday, July 8th from 5-7pm at Taylor Books in Charleston, WV. With photographer Raymond Thompson Jr. My work in the show mostly relates to the Owens-Illinois glass factory here in Huntington and the dominant role 20th century manufacturing companies played in workers’ lives with the model of industrial paternalism. Also on view will be my prints from last year centered around race-restrictive covenants in Huntington. Stop by the opening for some snacks (and art) before you hit up the King Coal premiere!
I have a piece in the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum’s “New Impressions” show. There’s a virtual reception this Saturday, April 29- I’m told several of the artists (me inc) will be briefly talking about their work. Might be fun if you’re into nerdy letterpress shop talk. You can find the link for that in the @hamiltonwoodtype bio.
