So grateful to have spent the last few days at the ReelAbilities Film Festival & Industry Summit, a festival that continues to raise the bar for what inclusive storytelling and accessibility can look like. @reelabilitiesny uplifts some of the most creative and boundary‑pushing filmmakers working today, and reminds us that these stories are for everyone, not niche audiences, but all audiences. I was honored to attend on behalf of Picture Motion, supporting our clients participating in the Crip Script + Rough Cut Pitch, and to be alongside our sister company @Kinema , where founder @christiemarchese shared insights on new, more equitable and accessible distribution models alongside Kathy Susca from The Film Collaborative and Kendra Hodgson from @womenmakemovies . What stayed with me most was the sense of community. Filmmakers, artists, and industry leaders coming together to push for a future where accessibility is built into every stage of the process: on set, on screen, behind the scenes and not as an after thought. As one of the the amazing speakers @emilyladau from @eastersealshq said, “This isn’t about one festival or one moment. It’s about building a movement. A true representation revolution for the entertainment industry.” 🖤 Be a movement, not a moment. #ReelAbilities #DisabilityRepresentation #AccessibleStorytelling #PictureMotion #Kinema #RepresentationRevolution #FilmFestivalLife

🌍 CLIMATE CHANGE-MAKER SPOTLIGHT: Meet the storyteller tracing the thread between craft, climate, and culture. @aditimayer is a journalist, photographer, and advocate who believes the fashion industry's supply chains can't be fixed until we first make them visible. 🥻 Her work does exactly that, exposing deep inequities in global fashion while amplifying the artisans, workers, and communities too often left out of the sustainability conversation. In 2020, Mayer became a National Geographic Fulbright Digital Storytelling Fellow, documenting India's farming and artisan textile traditions. Her writing has appeared in @voguebusiness , @britishvogue , @atmos , and @pbs — and her advocacy stretches from the factory floors of Los Angeles (where she began organizing in 2014 after the Rana Plaza collapse) to the boardrooms of the United Nations and @globalfashionagenda . 🧵🌿 As the founder of @theartisanarchive , Mayer bridges art, sustainability, and social justice, building a more equitable, culturally grounded vision of what fashion can be. #ClimateChangemaker #ClimateJustice #FashionRevolution #SustainableFashion #ArtisanArchive #EnvironmentalJustice #CraftAndCulture #ClimateAction #SocialImpact #FashionIndustry

📰 The momentum is building— and now you can read all about it. EIN Presswire recently published a feature on our national impact campaign with @thirddegreeburnoutfilm , the multi-award-winning documentary at the intersection of burnout, food systems, and climate change. Directed by @nivisualize and @darrensuffolk , the film has earned 12 festival awards and two U.N.-affiliated recognitions — and the audience data is just as compelling: 🍎 84% of viewers said it helped them connect diet, health, and burnout in a whole new way. 🌱 82% of Gen Z viewers said it links personal burnout to bigger systemic issues like climate change and food systems. Now we're taking it further, into classrooms, clinics, and communities where these conversations matter most. Because stories that connect the personal to the planetary deserve to be seen everywhere. Catch the full story at our link in bio. #SocialImpact #ThirdDegreeBurnout #ImpactCampaign #ClimateAction #Burnout #FoodSystems #MentalHealth #PublicHealth #MentalHealthMatters

Our COO, @julietterichey , had a blast last week at the Moonshot Film Challenge with Founder @katrinamedoff and @hudsytv at @rosendaletheatre ! She got to watch five short films during the event, all made by crews of all women and gender-expansive people: A Nice Place to Visit, Life Begins, New World Orioles, Out of Time, and The Swipe. While there, Juliette learned about an exciting opportunity by @moonshotinitiative that we had to share. ⬇️ Applications for the Moonshot Pilot Accelerator are open now through May 27, 2026! In this highly competitive virtual accelerator program for TV writers, 6-8 fellows will receive three weeks of pitch training and industry workshops, and then have the opportunity to pitch one-on-one to Netflix, HBO, and many other studios, production companies, agents and managers. 📝 Alums have sold a show to a production company, signed with an agent, and gotten hired in a writers' room from these meetings. 🎬 This program aims to increase the representation of women and gender-expansive people on screen and in writers’ rooms. If you have a pilot script and you want the chance to pitch one-on-one to Netflix, HBO and more, apply at the link in our bio or comment MOONSHOT. PS. Picture Motion community members can receive 10% off the application fee, just send us a DM or comment MOONSHOT and we’ll send it your way. #MoonshotInitiative #FilmmakerOpportunities #MoonshotPilotAccelerator #WomenInFilm

Congratulations to directors Zackary Canepari and Jessica Dimmock on 'Thoughts & Prayers' receiving a Peabody Award! 🏆 95% of American schools now run active shooter lockdown drills. This documentary pulls back the curtain on the billion-dollar industry behind that statistic and asks who it actually protects. We were proud to support the impact campaign, mobilizing 350+ youth, education, and mental health organizations around this film's @docnycfest premiere and HBO Max release.
