“Charm Harbour” Painted HDU Maxwell Place Park Hoboken, NJ 2024-2025 Now on view through Spring 2025, “Charm Harbour” is a seven-piece sculptural installation at Maxwell Place Park in Hoboken, NJ, overlooking the Hudson River and the NYC skyline. “Charm Harbour” suggests a place, a port, a safe haven for our collective imagination. Like whimsical charms or magical tokens that have tumbled out of the satchel of a mythical giant, our hope is that these sculptures inspire physical and mental play. These “charms” engage the grassy lawn of the park near the waterfront, inviting visitors to activate their bodies and minds in new ways. While the photos make it seem like the installation of these pieces was easy breezy, we faced quite an unexpected challenge with the installation process, and we had to return to the site multiple times with different tools in order to complete it. We’re so grateful for everyone who helped us work through it so patiently and kindly! Thank you to @visithoboken for bringing these sculptures to Hoboken, the fabrication & installation team @thirdkindcnc , the transport team @ocsartservices , and to @spirafix for the overseas phone support :) Special thanks to @bling_bling_hello for bringing it all together 💪🏽 It takes a team and that team couldn’t have done it without the expert childcare assist by @thedougfreedman & @instalaurigram ♥️💫🙏🏽 📷: Photos by David Sepa @davids.visuals

🐳🦴🍽️🎉 . Nearly 4 YEARS ago we started dreaming up “Whale Bone Dinner Party” for the newly opened Trebly Park in Downtown Houston. What a thrill to finally see it ready for visitors! So many hands and minds have helped support and usher this project into being; MANY THANKS to @piperfaustpublicart for starting the conversation way back in 2019, to all of the wonderful people @weingartenartgroup for continued support from start to finish and beyond, to @downtownhouston for the trust, vision, and follow through in creating such a fun, safe space in the heart of the city, to @polk.street.studios for the fabrication support and heavy-lifting 💪🏽 (and @closedcurve for the expert shape-making-zoom-sessions during lockdown;) It certainly takes a village and we’re deeply grateful to have worked with such a pro crew 🙏🏽 Photos by Lawrence Knox @lawrenceeliz Courtesy of Weingarten Art Group.

“Lumpy Notes” @northeastern 🎶 . Some install shots from our recent public art piece at Northeastern University in Boston. “Lumpy Notes” is a series of 7 painted paper pulp sculptures dotting the corridor between the bustle of Boston and the bubble of the campus. We think of each piece as an opportunity to soften the gaze, lighten the step, and breeze onward 🍂 It will be on display for 4-6 years ✨ . Big thank yous to @thirdkindstudio for milling all of the shapes prior to the pulping process and for being such an invaluable source of calm and assurance throughout the process, start to finish. @ocsartservices for the expert packing, loading, transporting, unloading, and install assist💪🏽 @slopflop & @blaed.art (@kate_slauter too;) for months of pulp hands & paint hands and being there EVERYDAY to help us see this through. And ultimately @thomasvannatter & @northeastern for recognizing our work, supporting our practice and entrusting us with such a FUN project. Lots of love ♥️

For Valentine's Day, we're highlighting some of our favorite artist duos. First up: Adam Frezza and Terri Chiao (@chiaozza ). Adam and Terri met at a karaoke bar in Chinatown, New York in 2011. What started with duets quickly evolved into a creative partnership. Their moniker, a blend of Chiao and Frezza (CHIAOZZA), is fitting: their work merges unexpected textures, fantastical forms, and a shared spirit of experimentation. Tap the link to see how their collaboration comes to life.

We’re pleased to share that our cover illustration for ILLUSTORIA Issue 28: DESSERTS is now available! @illustoria_mag is an incredible illustration magazine for creative kids & their grown-ups, celebrating visual storytelling, makers, and DIY culture through stories, art, comics, interviews, crafts, and activities. Our cover features dozens of paper pulp sculptures in dessert form. The process of sculpting tiny desserts in cardboard, foam, and pigmented paper pulp was as enjoyable as it is to eat the real thing! Grateful to be in the excellent company of fellow contributors Annie Wong, Jenny Chan, Tom Bingham, Jessica Bailey, Lara Kaminoff, Aaron Poland, Weng Pixin, Maddie Fischer, Hiller Goodspeed, Elana MacNaughtan, and dear friend Isabel Roxas @studioroxas , who shares tips for making the most delightful eatable gingerbread beasts. Thank you to @ehaidle for orchestrating this fun collaboration. You can purchase the issue or a subscription (which comes with a 2026 wall calendar) at the link in our bio :) Wishing you a warm and treat-filled season ahead 🍰🍩🍪🥧🍬🍨🍡🍧🍮🍫💛

Moving Forward In Reverse, the final exhibition at our gallery in Greenport Village, opens this Saturday, November 15. Amongst the superb works that we’ve selected by some of our closest and dearest artist friends is this large scale sculptural work by Chiaozza. Subject of 2 solo exhibitions, included in a number of group shows and art fair presentations, and the minds behind the monumental sculptures that have greeted guests and passers-by at our front door since 2018, @chiaozza have been the finest collaborators and most generous partners. Come by Saturday to see this ingenious work, and DM us with purchase inquiries or info about other available works. Pictured: Chiaozza. Very Special Obligation to Play, 2025. Painted paper pulp, gold leaf and paint on epoxy clay, painted wood and chipboard base, 48 x 29 x 29 inches.
