After a site visit in Tribeca we took a stroll to the original OCS location on White Street.
I was able to show my 6 year old son where it all began.
OCS Art Services was formed in 1987 by David O’Connell. A former chandelier factory, the space is now Sebastian Gladstone Gallery.
It’s been 14 years since OCS moved to Bushwick, what a pleasant surprise to see our original stencil on the buzzer.

Heechan Kim @heechan_kim_art is a New York City Based Artist born in South Korea.
Founder of Object X Object Studio and teacher at Parsons the Newschool.
The New York-based Korean artist’s signature technique of delicately layering strips of wood without permanent adhesive allows his works to ‘grow and shrink with the environment’.
Kim will debut a new body of work in the Chaumet lounge at Frieze Seoul 2024. Chaumet’s Bee My Love collection draws inspiration from the precise geometry found in nature, just as Kim’s sculptures recall naturally occurring forms like hives, shells and seed pods.

This crate required weeks of planning, including site visits to assess the piece and how it could travel crated through all the necessary doorways and hallways in both the USA and Amsterdam. After carefully measuring the space limitations in the gallery, we were able to design a crate that had the ability to ride in multiple orientations. Our team worked tirelessly with the studio to assure the safe arrive in Amsterdam.

OCS Art Services was honored to be a part of this monumental collection of design works by Visnja Brdar.
Services provided: packing, crating, condition reports, and local handling.
MUMA will present the first exhibition of Australian, New York-based designer Visnja Brdar. Having worked across fashion, architecture, product design, real estate and beauty, Brdar’s practice is exemplified by its independence, simplicity and dynamism. The exhibition, the first solo survey of a woman designer in an Australian institution, is curated by Hannah Mathews and will draw on Brdar’s archive and celebrate her important role in contemporary design communication. MUMA will co-publish the first monograph on Brdar’s work with Powerhouse Publishing.
