Art in Focus: Joep van Lieshout on Pride Helmet 📹️ This video focusses on Atelier van Lieshout’s Pride Helmet (2025), featured in the current exhibition Nikè. The work combines the shape of a protective helmet with figures gathered in demonstration, bringing together ideas of protest, identity, protection, and collective action. In the video, Joep van Lieshout explains how the helmet both shields and isolates the wearer, while the demonstrators across its surface reflect a tension between individuality and belonging. The work also connects to recurring themes throughout the exhibition: systems, conflict, survival, and civil disobedience. Learn more via the link in bio 🔗 — Nikè | Atelier Van Lieshout On view until May 24th , 2026 Galerie Ron Mandos, Prinsengracht 282, Amsterdam __ Video by Jaar and Dag Media, Amsterdam @atelier_van_lieshout #Nikè #AtelierVanLieshout #GalerieRonMandos #artreel

Atelier Van Lieshout: Work Highlight In light of the new exhibition Nikè, Galerie Ron Mandos highlights work by Atelier van Lieshout. A figure stands within a rigid frame, calm, contained, and seemingly at ease. Yet it remains bound. Referencing the traditional “ball and chain,” Van Lieshout inverts the logic: the weight is no longer attached to the body, but to the head. Constraint shifts from physical restriction to something internal, identity, thought, and self-definition. The frame represents systems of order and rationality, while the chain suggests control. Together, they point to a condition where limitation is no longer imposed from the outside, but absorbed and maintained from within. Learn more about the new exhibition and about the works by Atelier Van Lieshout via the link in my bio. 🔗 __ Nikè by Atelier van Lieshout On view until May 24, 2026 Galerie Ron Mandos, Prinsengracht 282, Amsterdam __ Work featured: Atelier van Lieshout Head and Chain, 2023 Plaster 93 x 65 x 45 cm Installation views by Jonathan de Waart __ @atelier_van_lieshout @galerieronmandos #GalerieRonMandos #AteliervanLieshout #ContemporaryArt

Savvy Awards Winner 2026: Folkert de Jong 🏆️ I am thrilled to announce Folkert de Jong has been chosen as one of the winners of the 2026 edition of the Savvy Awards. They are the world's only award for innovation & creativity across all disciplines, categories and industries. The awards are handed out yearly by a jury of experts. Other 2026 winners include Victor Wembanyama, Patrick Collison, Barbara Belvisi & Movement on the Ground. Below, find the text from the jury or click on the link in my bio to learn more.🔗 "Folkert De Jong’s practice explores the intersections of history, culture and human experience, creating sculptural tableaux that confront viewers with unsettling yet insightful narratives. He works predominantly with unconventional materials such as expanded polystyrene and polyurethane foam, often associated with industrial production and mass consumption. De Jong transforms them into life-sized figures and scenes that juxtapose vibrant surfaces with darker thematic content. His sculptural installations address subjects ranging from power and greed to war and collective cultural memory, bringing both historical and contemporary issues into sharp, almost theatrical focus. Folkert de Jong has the unique ability to engage audiences through materially innovative and critically charged works." - Rik Reinking, Jury Savvy Awards — Featured Artworks: 2) Folkert de Jong, Jan Pieterszoon Coen, 2026, Polyurethane and styrofoam, 35 x 20 x 25 cm 3) Folkert de Jong, Small Prophet, 2025, Pigmented polyurethane, spray paint, epoxy, 171 x 48 x 50 cm 4) Folkert de Jong, Gerard Bikker als volwassen man, 2026, Polyurethane and styrofoam, 35 x 20 x 25 cm @folkert.dejong #savvyawards #savvyawards2026 #savvy #folkertdejong #woodsartinstitute

Atelier Van Lieshout: Work Highlight In light of the new exhibition Nikè, Galerie Ron Mandos highlights work by Atelier van Lieshout. Referencing the classical sculpture of a defeated warrior, Dying Gaul shifts attention away from victory and towards its aftermath. The original figure is known for its rare portrayal of vulnerability, an enemy shown with dignity rather than humiliation. Van Lieshout’s version continues this focus, emphasizing the moment where strength collapses and the body remains. The work points to the human cost embedded within systems of power and conflict, where narratives of triumph give way to consequence. Learn more about the new exhibition and about the works by Atelier Van Lieshout via the link in my bio. 🔗 __ Nikè by Atelier van Lieshout On view until May 24, 2026 Galerie Ron Mandos, Prinsengracht 282, Amsterdam __ Work featured: Atelier van Lieshout, Dying Gaul, 2023, Plaster, 48 x 72 x 48 cm Images by Jonathan de Waart __ @atelier_van_lieshout @galerieronmandos #GalerieRonMandos #AteliervanLieshout #ContemporaryArt
