Scenes from a Word & Image workshop, recently held at Studio 11. Next iteration of these experimental paneled formats will be a workshop at ICON in July, titled “Comics for people who didn’t know they wanted to make comics”
Is this you?
And give a holler if you’re going to be in Baltimore on July 15!
Overheard ~
I lack ideas for comic strips so I keep a note with eavesdropped one-liners. Here’s some of the latest made with an extremely cute and poorly performing ballpoint pen shaped like a mushroom.
And tiny weird flash cards found at @scrapportland

I can’t gush enough about this book which I devoured in less than a week ✨🌎 !
The Weather Keeper is now available for presale! This is a tale based on a real-life person with a real job, that touches on the experience of Time as tethered to seasons, the shifting arc of the sun in the sky, the patterns of creatures living alongside us. It’s about going away and coming back.
It’s different from any other book I’ve illustrated—it spoke to me about something I’d been longing for and wanting to think was still possible…a different way to experience Time that was full, but not harried.
Thanks author Nelly Buchet for this story, which captured me from the very start!
