The awesome folks at SloCo Pizza hosted our Fall/Holiday Season 2025 Queer Soup Night for an evening of queer joy, community love, and—you guessed it—amazing soup. Featuring Chefs Preeti Mistry, Leah Scurto and Dany + Dane of SloCo Pizza. @chefpmistry @slowcopizza @danycleland @scurtographer This event benefited Food For Thought, Sonoma County’s food bank providing free, medically tailored groceries and meals to people living with serious medical conditions. Their programs include weekly fresh produce and proteins, personalized meals that meet both medical and cultural needs, and nutrition counseling from registered dieticians—ensuring everyone can access the food and care they deserve. In times like these, when food insecurity and health challenges are rising, Food For Thought’s work is essential and deeply human. @fftfoodbank Photographer @sarahderagon Music provided by the amazing folks of Cute Coffee, thanks to Bianka Alloyn & Sabreen Naimah! @ilovecutecoffee

Our third event on August 15th, 2025 was held at the amazing Lunchette! @lunchette_petaluma We raised funds for two incredible local organizations doing powerful work in Sonoma County: Amor Para Todos (APT) and Sonoma Family Meal (SFM). @amorparatodosapt @sonomafamilymeal Amor Para Todos was founded by passionate parents, teachers, and community members with a mission to create more inclusive schools and communities for LGBTQIA+ youth and families. Their work brings critical gender and LGBTQIA+ inclusivity to classrooms and beyond. Sonoma Family Meal strengthens our local food economy while nourishing our neighbors. Through their community kitchen, they transform locally sourced ingredients and rescued perishables into nourishing meals for families and seniors experiencing food insecurity. SFM also provides culinary job training, small food-business support, and coordinates emergency meal relief during disasters. Together, these two organizations embody care, resilience, and community in action—and we’re honored to have supported them through this fundraiser. 🔥 Featuring: Chef Naomi Crawford (beloved local talent with bold, seasonal flavors) Chef Cece Illingwoth (brings intention and heart to everything she does.) @bitterfrog Cute Coffee provided the music and some refreshments! @ilovecutecoffee @sarahderagon photographer

Reflections on the past year of Queer Soup Night Sonoma County. So much Love! 💗 🩷🩷✨✨✨✨✨ 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️. Queer Soup Night made its Northern California premier in Sonoma County at The Punchdown in the Barlow. Born in Brooklyn in 2017, QSN is a party created for queers, by queers. We gather to nourish our bodies, celebrate queer culinary talent, and build a joyful, generous community—all while raising funds for local organizations doing critical work. For our first round on June 22, 2025, we were proud to support Positive Images, an LGBTQIA+ nonprofit that provides vital services, connection, and support to queer and trans youth and adults in Sonoma County. Featuring Two Culinary Legends: Chef Preeti Mistry @chefpmistry – James Beard award winning chef, author & podcast host, Chef Preeti Mistry is an unapologetic culinary disruptor. Known for their former Bay Area restaurants Juhu Beach Club and Navi Kitchen, Preeti brings bold flavors and radical love to everything they cook. Chef Preeti is currently the Executive Chef of @silveroakcellars Chef Leah Scurto @scurtographer – Award-winning pizzaiola and owner of Pizzaleah in Windsor, CA. Leah has earned international pizza championships and was recently featured on Hulu’s Best in Dough Music by @ilovecutecoffee Photography by @sarahderagon
