Feeling blessed to shop the Castries Central Market today back in St Lucia. Met up with my friend Chef Robby and some newcomers in Saint Lucia’s capital. Mangoes (we have 100 varieties), fresh cinnamon bark, new tumeric, pineapple, ballyhoo, and eel, pausing now and again for some fresh coconut water and jelly. Art Week Chicago at Soho House, for One-Night-Only, with Chef Nina Compton, bringing her bold island flavors with a New Orleans twist, to celebrate a fun “Balloon Dog” collab with Jeff Koons x Evian.
As for the meal, the whole Bronzino escoviche, hush puppies, and coconut flan with roasted pineapple were all hits, along with her addictive chive buttermilk biscuits from Compére Lapin & perfectly paired with Evian.
