Introducing New Wave Discovery 2025 — a debut mentorship program pairing new wave talents with award-winning masters. ✨ Steven Che (2024 Rising Star Chef, Just Pizza) learns the artistry of Cantonese dim sum under Chef Lai Wei of Lanxuan, Dim Sum Chef of the Year 2024. ✨ Jay Yip (Petite Bao), French cuisine trained, studies the foundations of Cantonese cuisine with Master Chef Andy Liu — who once helmed the iconic Sea Harbour, now Executive Chef of Chucila, and among the few Canadian apprentices of the late “Abalone King” Yeung Koon Yat. Meet the chefs of this year’s @scotiabank #FeastOfFortune gala! 🐍 Owner and head chef at @petitebao , @chef_jay_yip blends fine dining with Asian street food, creating signature bao burgers with house-made buns and unique fillings. The restaurant has quickly become a standout in Vancouver for its flavorful fusion and commitment to quality. This year, Chef Jay and his wife, Jessica, welcomed their son at St. Paul’s Hospital and had an incredible experience with the doctors, midwives, and health care staff.
