For the past few months I’ve been in the studio developing a new work called Vestige.
My earlier audiovisual performances were built off my background in freestyle dance, making timing and structural decisions in response to music, but carried out mainly through camera, light, and pacing in Unreal Engine via custom controllers inspired by film production equipment.
With Vestige, I began by building a new controller centered on the human body, pushing the performance beyond the screen and into shared physical space. That starting point has since opened up larger questions around presence, control, and what it means to perform with technology.
