Mi primer #25N lejos de la isla🇩🇴 fue muy distinto a lo que me imaginé…
Siempre viví este día marchando, facilitando talleres y en comunidad, pero este año me tocó desde Londres… y aun así lo sentí más cerca que nunca.
Tuve el honor de llevar un pedacito de RD a @londonschoolofeconomics gracias a la iniciativa @fmaw.community 💜, donde presenté la historia de las Hermanas Mirabal: tres mujeres cuya valentía originó este día y nos recordó que la libertad no se negocia. Contar cómo todo comenzó con el simple pero poderoso “No” de Minerva frente al acoso del dictador me hizo sentir de nuevo la fuerza de esta lucha.
Fue además recordar que el acoso sexual no es un simple “mal rato”: es una herramienta política que históricamente ha buscado controlar, disciplinar y silenciar. Y más importante aún: que enfrentarlo también es un acto político.
Hablé también del trabajo que hacemos en @chalkbackorg y @catcallsofdr , porque la violencia empieza muchas veces en lo cotidiano y normalizado, ignorar esto es reproducir y permitir que la violencia continúe echando raíces en nuestro entorno.
Llevar los desafíos que enfrentamos en RD para el otro lado del charco me permitió entender que la lucha viaja con una, dondequiera que estemos. La llevamos en la memoria, en el activismo y en cada “hasta aquí” que decimos✊🏽
A quienes leen: las respeto, las acompaño y estaré siempre comprometida con un mundo libre de violencia. Esa es la mejor forma de honrar a las Mirabal y la valentía que nos han dejado de herencia (ojalá y un día ser valientes deje de ser necesario). 🦋🦋🦋
