Hi! Ik stuur even een berichtje omdat ik echt kook vanbinnen. Ik werd net op het Javaplein nageroepen door een oude man die voorbij fietste. Hij zei: “Wat zie jij er lekker uit! Lekker stevig!”
Nu doe ik de afgelopen tijd erg m’n best om okee te zijn met m’n lichaam, omdat ik veel ben aangekomen, mede door medicatie gebruik. Dus deze opmerking valt extra verkeerd bij me. Er liep tijdens het naroepen ook een vrouw langs, die naar me lachte en zei: “Het is ook wel een compliment.” Dit viel bij mij ook verkeerd. Ik weet niet of ik bij jou/jullie aan het goede adres ben hiermee en of je er wat mee kunt, maar het helpt in ieder geval al om het even kwijt te zijn. Liefs.

Now I have been doing my best lately to be okay with my body, because I have gained a lot of weight, partly due to taking medication. So this comment strikes me as extra bad. While I was catcalled at, a woman also walked by. She smiled at me and said: “It’s also a compliment.” Tat rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t know if I’ve come to the right place with this and whether you can do something with it, but it certainly helps to get rid of it for a while. Love.

Toen ik 14 was zat ik in zo een ouderwetse tram die net iets hoger was. Ik merkte dat er een man die op het bankje aan de andere kant van het looppad zat, mij de hele tijd zat aan te staren. Bij het Haarlemmerplein stapte hij uit en ging hij buiten staan naast het raam waar ik bij zat. Vervolgens ging hij aan zijn stijve zitten en omdat het een hoge tram was, was ik de enige die dit kon zien. Ik was doodsbang en deze man moet zeker 50+ zijn geweest. Uiteindelijk reed de tram gelukkig weg.

🇳🇱🇧🇪 Als ik over straat loop word ik serieus elke 10 min wel een keer gecatcalled, en ik vind het walgelijk. Dingen als “hee schatje, waar ga je heen? Mag ik mee?” Het maakt me super ongemakkelijk, en ik ga natuurlijk ook twijfelen aan mezelf, of ik me misschien niet minder opvallend moet gaan kleden of heel chagrijnig moet gaan kijken als ik over straat loop om maar te voorkomen dat creepy jongens/mannen ranzige teksten naar mijn hoofd slingeren.
