Stage II lands in Cardiff. Finally, the first part of this project was shown at Kingsgate Project Space, and then life, buildings, and plans all shifted. Since then, BayArt’s been under construction, and we’ve been figuring out what kind of space and organisation we want to be, trying things, and working on plans.
Now, with a brilliant crew of members and associates, we’re pushing forward as a team. The gallery’s getting there — and Stage II feels good to get back into curating instead of just chasing building issues.
The show is about flexibility, collaboration, and rethinking. This autumn, we aim to take it to Plymouth’s Mirror with the support of Dan Howard-Birt, who worked with us on the initial stage show at Kingsgate project space. We will add artists as we go and keep the project evolving.

Stage is a multi-artist installation and zine project curated by LLE .
The artworks all relate to the theme of ‘stage’.
The first installation was at Kingsgate Project Space, Kilburn, London.
The installation consists of two formats of artwork:
1. large backdrops.
2. small works on panels.
Participating artists are invited to produce both backdrops and small works on panels. Artists will be added throughout the duration on the show
The backdrops are hung on the gallery walls and are at least 1 metre in height or width. They are large-scale drawings, paintings, textile and fabric hangings, and pre-existing items such as posters. The smaller works on wooden panels are hung on-top of the backdrops. The backdrop pieces are necessarily damaged during the installation, as holes are pierced through them to hang the smaller wooden panels on top. The installation is changed during the exhibition, with works being moved, added and removed.
