đ» Cameron Crozman is a Canadian cellist praised by Diapason for âa rich imagination and keen mind.â He performs as a soloist and chamber musician across Canada, the United States, Asia, and Europe, and has shared the stage with artists such as James Ehnes, Augustin Hadelich, Louis Lortie, GĂ©rard CaussĂ©, James Campbell, and members of the ĂbĂšne, New Zealand, and Penderecki Quartets.
He received the Fernand-Lindsay Career Grant and the Virginia Parker Prize from the Canada Council for the Arts, was named Classical Revelation 2019 by Radio-Canada, and took part in Gautier Capuçonâs Classe dâExcellence at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. He studied with Paul Pulford in Canada and Michel Strauss at the Paris Conservatoire.
His debut album âCavatine,â recorded with pianist Philip Chiu on the 1696 âBonjourâ Stradivarius cello, was praised by Radio-Canada as âa perfect transmission of the essence of modern French music.â His most recent recording features Haydnâs Cello Concertos and Jacques HĂ©tuâs Rondo with Les Violons du Roy conducted by Nicolas Ellis.
Cameron is Assistant Artistic Director of the Festival of the Sound, co-founder of ClassicalValley in the Okanagan Valley, and co-Artistic Director of the HausMusique concert series in Montréal. He performs on a c. 1750 Gennaro Gagliano cello on loan from the Canada Council for the Arts Instrument Bank and a bow by Georges Léon Lamy provided by CANIMEX INC.
