May 5 is National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People.
This day is also known as Red Dress Day, inspired by Métis artist, Jamie Black's REDress Project art installation. Red dresses hang empty to represent the Indigenous women who have gone missing and been murdered.
