Introducing @04sphere_ from our 6-4-6 cohort! Jack Mattison launched 04sphere in 2025 with their London College of Fashion graduate collection, Memoir of the Fallen Locks. Inspired by personal experiences with hair loss and Victorian sentimentality, the work explores identity, emotion and reconnecting with femininity through a romantic expressive lens. Each piece is crafted to feel meaningful and unique, like wearable memories. We’ve loved working with Jack so far - several insightful conversations and exciting goals being set behind the scenes. They are all seeking individual things from the 6-4-6, which is exciting and fresh! Some kind words from our creative family 💚 Both @scar_kennedy_ and @victoriapgill we're enrolled in the very first Bleaq mentorship scheme 4 years ago - and wow have they come a long way! The ESS (Early Stage Scheme) was an idea that came about from all the visits from young designers - coming into our Bricklane store asking for advice. It was clear there was a demand - a gap that needed filling. Whether that be shift from education to industry or juggling jobs alongside your 'bedroom studio'. ESS became a very real support space for young creatives (not just designers). We met @silvia_anzoletti 2 years ago, looking to try out different things and dip her toes into the industry. She literally reached out to an open call and the rest was history. Since then, she has worked alongside us at many events, from dressing and styling, to pop-ups and curation (all whilst taking the most INCREDIBLE photos in-between). Bleaq is very much a space where anything can happen and we love creating these opportunities for you to blossom! Applications for our 6-4-6 mentorship scheme close in just 4 days. We have been receiving your applications (thank you!) and will be reviewing them the week following the deadline (2nd March)

Reflection is important! I really want to step away from retail and focus on evolving early stage creatives. Young designers with potential who may be feeling lost in their next steps, or overwhelmed stepping in an ever-evolving industry. I've been experiencing digital fatigue recently and it seems there's oversaturation with what's on the 'market', we're being constantly bombarded with the next thing, trends, micro trends and macro-micro-mini trends. Everyone is constantly comparing themselves to eachother - where's the quiet space to create? That's what I want for the Bleaq website. To be a place of experimentation and enjoy the journey. To be a standalone platform, in its own world. If any of you remember us back in the day, we used to have special drops of exclusive lil goodies made in conversations with bleaq. Fun, unorthodox and made for the moment, as part of a creative process. You'd subscribe and we'd send you a link to a secret page to view what the designer had been working on. I'd love to bring that back and lean into my teaching / mentoring skills more. So I'm taking on 6 designers for 6 months.
