Got to shoot some fun new pressies for @dietwice__ on a very windy day on some beautiful coastal cliffs. Special thanks to @sloppegiuseppe for making sure nobody fell off the edge! #35mm

SO GOOD! 🖤 We’ve had so much fun building a tour wardrobe together, for support tours with Skunk Anansie @officialskunkanansie and Queens of the Stone Age @queensofthestoneage , and European headline shows. We designed adaptable pieces with interchangeable sleeves, pleated skirts, and modular jacket panels, all made to make each performance truly unique. We handcrafted a leather set from deadstock skins and developed a recycled denim set sourced from a Hackney Wick manufacturer, both of us wanted to build a truly sustainable adaptable tour wardrobe. ‘Baby Powder’: A set has been formed due to a delay in the completion of building works at a new studio space; giving the crafts of labour an opportunity to bleed into the artistic. ‘Baby Powder’ emerged as a cocoon-like realm; where grafters, the glamorous and mystical creatures coexist. Everything worn is vintage, second hand or made out of repurposed cloth. Some pieces have been made of antique fragments, reestablished as whole garments, others have been embellished and up cycled. This palette that excludes the wholly new in favour of the once abandoned, serves as a device that champions social and emotional development based on the principals of inclusion, repair and collaboration. Jean Louie Castillo’s (@jeanlouiecastillo ) latest collection was a dreamy (or haunting, perhaps) sci-fi Gothic fantasy. The AW26 collection ‘Silvercity’ presented some staples of gothic fashion, with skin-tight leather and chains featured in numerous looks. Castillo also conveyed a sense of decadent luxury and elegance through his impeccable tailoring, alongside the inclusion of dramatic, over-the-top grey furs. Textures carried the show. Ruched, stiff fabrics created bold and luxurious silhouettes. The citizens of Silvercity seem to embody indulgence, greed and excess – precisely as intended by their Creator. At the same time, these bold silhouettes are often fragmented, the garments seemingly unfinished. Fabrics are sometimes ripped. We are left wondering whether this chase for luxury and elegance is merely a façade, hiding a fragmented, insecure sense of self. We suspect that the answer is yes. The beauty of this collection lies precisely in conveying such fractured identity through a pursuit of luxury and elegance – a greed and ambition that consumes us from within. Thanks to the brilliant make up team, models appeared as though they had just emerged from a goth sci-fi future: bold smokey eyes and a silver second skin embracing their bodies. To stay true to its gothic roots and inspirations, Castillo brought goth legends such as @parma.ham and @bambiethug onto the runway. Castillo’s runaway show was a real gothic fantasy, drenched in elegance, luxury, and decay. Such bold fashion, however, is not the aim of Castillo’s vision. Rather, it is the means through which we explore themes of vulnerability, identity, and a fragmentation of the self.
