On Sunday 8th June 2025, we streamed a very special recording to commemorate one year since our dear friend, Gerard Lollie @gerard_digbigsur passed away. The Concert for Gerard was a beautiful show at the Lollie family’s Altadena home on August 24, 2024, following his Celebration of Life memorial earlier that day. Tragically, the Lollies’ home was lost in the Eaton Fire back in January – which makes this live recording even more powerful. Following an incredible era of house concerts, Lolliepalooza & Woodstock West festivals, and epic music hangs with Gerard over the years – this was the last concert there. On a personal note, the loss of Gerard, and the Lollies’ beautiful home, have been deep deep losses for our family and friends. The reason we moved to Altadena in 2017 was the Lollie family – after many years visiting them, it felt like home. Altadena was our hidden LA secret, where we could build a life for our family. Despite this tragedy, Altadena will rebuild & rise again! Jackie’s singular artistry has been near and dear to us for many years. Her 2006 alt-folk debut LP, 𝘍𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯’𝘍𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 was shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize, and since then she’s released the critically acclaimed 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴’ 𝘓𝘶𝘤𝘬 (2010), 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘦𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘦𝘯 (2014) and 𝘓𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘚𝘩𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘴 (2018). Hailing from Melbourne/Naarm, Maple Glider is the moniker for Tori Zietsch, whose incredible 2023 LP, 𝘐 𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘦, delved into her Christian childhood, exploring her relationship to her body, consent, shame, and the death of relationships, both romantic and familial. On 𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘒𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘔𝘦, she forgoes her typically mellifluous vocal style to quite literally scream her heart out. This visceral performance was captured during a recent promotional tour to the US, and we’re so excited to finally release it! It’s been almost five months since the Eaton fire turned our world upside down, but the mountains above Beautiful Altadena are finally showing signs of new life 🍃 We have a long road ahead, but we’re very slowly getting there.. So many friends and family ask, “what can we do to help?” It’s difficult to give an answer, as we await lead testing results inside our ash & soot-filled house and continue to battle with insurance for adequate smoke remediation. Two years later, Susanna started to release solo material before reuniting with The Bangles at the end of 90s.
