Here is a rare video of one of the greatest punk bands out of Los Angeles NEW COLLAPSE. Video shot Hazmat / ScrewBall.
Nothing about this band was normal, visually and sonically!! As people they were the most colorful artists I knew, and the music they made was the second to none!!
If there’s any strength I have in recording is minimal bands sound amazing at my studio. I approached them and was thrilled as honored to make their full length.
After they left my studio, it had been a few years and I never heard anything back on this record being released. As I inquired around town, I found out Sadly the band had broken up. I reached out to some of the band members I could find and inquired whatever happened to these recordings we did? no one knew?! I was able to piece together a few studios they had visited after my own ,This record was made on 24 track tape So those reels would be hard to lose lol So I tracked down all the old Studios they had gone and was so crazy as I knocked on the door to inquire about these tapes the owner of one of these Studio’s told me he literally about to throw them in the trash behind the building ?! He could not believe I was just inquiring about these actual tapes… He physically had moved to put in the dumpster behind the building. Fate had looked kindly upon us and I brought the tapes to my studio. Baked them and transferred because they were soon to be unplayable and ruined.
I mixed this and I’ve shared this with the artists of New Collapse individually.
Super proud of this LP! I hope someday the full record will come out. Here’s a glimpse into lightning captured in a bottle. New Collapse LP is available on their BandCamp Page.
