During a recent trip to Ghana, I had the opportunity to spend some time with Joshua, a local surfer and business owner.
For Joshua, it all started with borrowing a tourist’s board. Riding a wave to the beach on his first try got him hooked, and his newfound hobby soon turned into a career after he decided to open up a small surf school in Kokrobite beach in Ghana. The goal was to teach the local kids first how to swim, giving them enough confidence to then try their luck on the collection of donated boards he’s collected over the years.
