💥Last week Artcry reached 1000 followers💥.
🎉🎉🎉Celebrate with us by sending Artcry to three artists/activists/creatives/organisers in your network?
Artcry is run by a voluntary rolling panel of artists/producers/activists from across different disciplines and areas of the UK.
Each panellist brings their own experiences and ideas to the decision making table, challenging each other to think (and feel) deeply, hold Artcry values close and support each other to get as much work as possible funded.
Here’s our brilliant panel celebrating. Imagine what they would do if we reached 3000 followers by the new year!
Help us to spread the word about Artcry as far as possible? Tell your people that this is a way to get responsive, time critical, political work into their public spaces.

>>> What do we fund?<<<
Artcry funds work which responds to events happening now.
In a climate where 48 hours makes a headline old news and distraction politics are commonplace, opinions can be formed after two sentences.
We need to be able to respond faster.
We need art that can hold nuance and contradiction. Art which can capture the mood of a community in the moment.
We want to support projects which can cut through the noise.
Apply if your work:
* Starts a conversation
* Can startle people with a new point of view
* Makes audiences think more deeply
* Strives to make an impact
* Respects difference
* Has a spirit of openness and accessibility at its core.
* Is representative
We will reply to every application with feedback.
If your application is successful this will be within 7 days.
If we are not offering you funding it might take a little longer than 7 days but we will be in touch
Apply Now with 2 minute film or short written application here or via the link in our bio

💥 CAN YOU HELP US REACH THE ARTISTS WHO NEED US?💥
Artcry exists to fund political art in public spaces.
It supports time-critical projects which start conversations.
Projects with a clear goal to make change happen.
Projects that can’t get funding from other places.
ARTCRY is an open fund, which means you can apply on any topic at any time. Decisions are made by a rolling panel of volunteer artists, activists, creatives and producers from across the UK. We are particularly interested in funding projects that:
>>> Call for transparency and accountability in our democracy.
>>> Fight for human rights and equality
You can apply for any amount of money. £50 to buy paint? £200 to hire a van? £600 to hire a serious projector?
Apply for what you need.
Our standard maximum grant amount is up to £2,500 (including VAT).
Apply with 2 minute film or short written application via the link in our bio

Hello!
This is England is now fully underway, and we are getting everything prepared for the workshops next week.
If you’d like to take part, please head to the link in my bio to sign up.
Workshop dates:
•Friday 21 November — Ramsgate, 6.30–9pm
• Saturday 22 November — Broadstairs, 10.30am–1 pm
• Saturday 22 November — Margate, 2.30–5pm
Final Big Stitch Event:
• Saturday 29 November — Margate, 1–4pm
Venue details will be shared upon booking.
This project involves collaborating to design a new, massive, inclusive flag as a symbol of unity and inclusion.
It's made from reclaimed England flags, stitched together with materials that tell the stories of people who make up Thanet today.
“When flags are used to exclude, they stop being a symbol of community. By reclaiming these flags and weaving them together with fabrics representing the people of Thanet, we are creating a symbol of belonging. This is not about one idea of ‘Englishness’ — it is about the reality of who lives here: our grandparents who moved here for work, families who arrived seeking safety, people who grew up here and have never left. They are England.”
This project directly engages with ongoing local conversations around identity and community. Thanet has long been a focal point for debates about migration and belonging, and symbols such as flags have recently appeared in public spaces in ways that many residents experience as divisive. This Is England responds not with opposition, but with care, craft, collaboration and shared making.
This is England is funded by @artcry20

We are excited to be part of this event next week!
Ever wondered what would happen if we - communities, young people, creatives - decided who got funding and how? Come and hear from people who are already doing just that and think about how you could too 🤔 💭
As funding becomes even harder to come by than ever before yet it still seems like the same people keep getting funded we want to think about new models of money gathering and giving away that lets the people decide where their money goes and supports the things we care about outside of institutional priorities.
Come along to an in-coversation led by Rising Arts Agency with people who are already rethinking who and how gets money to do the things that make our world a lil better.
When: Wednesday 23rd April, 6:30 - 7:30pm
Where: Bookhaus, Wapping Wharf, BS1 6ZJ
Link in @risingartsagency bio for your free ticket! Come be part of the conversation

Bring on the collective rage/grief
Vent and show solidarity for all those suffering at the sharp end of Musk’s influence!
