The first ever five-a-side pitch in Europe dedicated to a female footballer. A tribute to the incredible legacy of Welsh football icon @jessfishlock Walesâ most capped player and all-time top goalscorer.
This court is more than just a surface to play on. Itâs a reminder that greatness can start anywhere.
Six months in the making, the goal was simple.
Celebrate Jessâs legacy and shine a light on womenâs football at grassroots level, with the hope of inspiring future generations of young girls to follow in her footsteps.
We brought the project to Splott Park, where Jess once played as a young girl. Over 100 students from local schools took part in creative workshops inspired by her story using football to explore creativity, confidence, and showcasing whatâs possible when you pursue your dreams.

Thereâs never been anything like this in Wales.
A full-sized art pitch in the heart of Cardiff, honouring Welsh superstar and Cardiff-born-and-raised Jess Fishlock â a legend of the game, now immortalised in the city that shaped her. Masterminded by pioneering creative studio @u.nify , this is the first of its kind in Wales and Europe â an art pitch dedicated to a female footballer.
When asked about the purpose behind the project, Unify put it simply:
âWe wanted to amplify the legacy of Jess Fishlock â a trailblazer and icon in Welsh football. To say thank you â on behalf of the nation â to Jess, for blazing the trail for the womenâs game in Wales. And we hope this pitch will inspire a thousand future Jess Fishlocks, as Cymru steps onto the biggest stage of all â the Euros.â
Alongside the pitch, Unify ran workshops with local schools â using this moment to spark meaningful conversations the power of football to uplift and empower communities.
Quite simply, this is a landmark for Wales. A tribute to greatness and a canvas for future legends.

Our latest project unveiled today, is an art installation created as part of the "Safer Streetsâ campaign that seeks to tackle violence towards women and young girls by making our streets safer. The aim of this project was to transform and revitalise an neglected underpass in the heart of the city using Art and transform it into a vibrant safe space for all.
