Thank you to everyone who listened, all the curators, all the artists that submitted music and patrons who supported the station.
An end is also a beginning, we’ll be releasing details for new ambient / nature listening project this year. It’s called SONIFEROUS 🌱

🍄 Immerse yourself in music created by a variety of mushrooms and other plants for the launch of A State Of Flo records, along with a selection of talks. In partnership with Brian Eno’s charity EarthPercent, with 10% of ticket sales going to environmental charities.
Featuring two live ‘biosonfication’ sets of fantastical fungi sounds from @naturalsymphonylive and Brian d’Souza (formerly known as @auntie._.flo ). Presented on EartH's 360º @l.acoustics.official surround sound system for a three dimensional mycelium sonic network to form.

The first release on A State Of Flo records will be Mycorrhizal Fungi, a celebration of the humble mushroom. It features four new biosonification tracks by myself and the debut release by celebrated DJ @orla_cd !
The original artwork was made by the award winning Jananicole @jananicole_studio and features SCRATCH n SNIFF scent of the forest and UV paint that will look completely different in black light, like mushrooms do.

We’re delighted to welcome @lisalerkenfeldt as guest curator for December. She's an Australian sound artist, whose music has featured on the station since its early days. She's just released a beautiful album, Halos Of Perception, on the highly respected @shelter_press imprint, which we'd highly recommend diving into. Her work alters time with a "radical softness" (@boomkatonline ).
For Ambient Flo, she has focussed on piano music from past to present - the likes of Bill Evans and Harold Budd and Ryuchi Sakamoto sit alongside Alva Noto, @felicia_atkinson , Terre Thaemlitz, Satsuki Shibano and @gigi_masin . She's also included a range of compositions from her back catalogue, which we were very pleased to see. 👀

This month, Dr Michelle Ulor, @drmichelle_ is our guest curator ✨
She has a PhD in Music Psychology from Leeds University, and is also a highly skilled DJ, radio host and writer. Michelle and I crossed paths last year through a mutual friend and have subsequently had a bunch of great conversations around musical identities, musical imagery and the scene music in general.
She invited me to play on her @nts_radio show and I was super impressed by her own brand of club music, leading to us DJing together in Glasgow at New Year's Eve last year.
This year, she's dug deeper into Ambient sounds and the intersection of music and health, hosting an Ambient Listening at the @icalondon and hosting a podcast on @resident_advisor on ADHD and dance music.
For her Ambient Flo selection is the biggest selection we've had - over 150 songs! So there's a lot to get through - highlights include Duval Timothy, Nueen, Emeka Ogboh and former guest curators Azu Tiwaline, KMRU and much much more.

Welcoming Eelco Topper aka Felbm @felbm as our October guest curator! ✨
We met Felbm at his recent album launch for the incredible cycli infini, released on @soundwayrecords .
Cycli Infini is without doubt my favourite album of 2023 - it has everything I look for in an album. I love the concept, where the music flows continuously, with no definite start or end, designed to play on repeat.
The compositional approach Eelco takes is superlative, bringing beautiful live instrumentation on flute, saxophone, trumpet and pedal steel guitar along with Eelco's arrangements, influenced by the natural world as well as minimalist composers such as Erik Satie and Laraaji. I also love the artwork, influenced by Dutch artist MC Escher.
Needless to say, we were delighted when Eelco agreed to curate a selection for Ambient Flo, and it really doesn't disappoint: some of his own compositions sit alongside the likes of Ellen Arkbro, Bibio, previous Ambient Flo curator Jonny Nash, Midori Takada, Sarah Davachi and plenty of Japanese Kankyō Ongaku (environmental music).

We’re delighted to welcome London based Anna Wall @djannawall as our curator this month. She's the founder of @_dream_theory records, a fledgling label that we have featured heavily in the past couple of years. It has released two outstanding ambient compilations as well as music from Anna herself. Outside of her work with the label, Anna has been a resident of the legendary @fabriclondonofficial nightclub since 2019 and tours the world playing at festivals and clubs.
Her Ambient Flo selection includes a range of music from her label, alongside Ambient Flo favourites such as @_kamaru_ , @jonathanfitoussi_ , @penelopetrappes , Space Afrika and legends William Basinski, Aphex Twin and Grouper. I really hope you like the mixture of delicate ethereal music and resonant deepness. Tune in from 10am-4pm daily.

Welcoming @aspaceforsound as our July curator! Fka Rena Anakwe, she is an interdisciplinary artist, performer, poet and healer working primarily with sound, visuals, and scent and exploring intersections between traditional healing practices, spirituality and performance. Her work is focused on sensory-based, experiential interactions using creative technology. She is based in Brooklyn, New York by way of Nigeria and Canada.
We've been a big fan of her music and featured it heavily on our Ambient Flo playlists over the years. You can find her latest release on @rvngintl
Sound healing/therapy continues to inspire the station, so it's great to welcome our 2nd trained therapist to our roster of curators, following on from @aaron_horn_ a couple of months ago.🌿
