If you’ve been a longtime follower of Scrawl (FKA SA Recordings) you might recall ‘Moonglades’ - a soundtrack and sample library release we did with Raven Bush @allsoundismusic back in 2020. The sonic world of the score was distilled into a sample library featuring Raven’s baritone and 5-string violins, sounds from his rare synth collection and percussion brought to life with detailed programming to create inspiring textures and loops. Shout out @hereiskinder and @catsonix who were also really involved in bringing it to life! I’ve been using the sounds from this library ever since in songwriting and production - I highly recommend it ✨ Anyway, all this backstory is really just to say that I’m super happy that Raven has invited us back into his world with his new project @_m2c.audio_ and that two of these beautiful compositions will be on Scrawl’s forthcoming ‘String It Together’ compilation. ‘Stillpoint 37’ is the debut track from composer Raven Bush’s new project @_m2c.audio_ and the first single from Scrawl’s upcoming compilation ‘String It Together’ - out May 13th. The compilation is a 10-track record of new string works bringing together a constellation of distinct and exploratory voices working within contemporary sound. About M2C: M2C is the latest project from composer and @speakerscornerquartet member Raven Bush. The project situates itself at the intersection of strings, modular synthesis and field recording. The work traces the unstable frictions between acoustic and electronic intonation, drawing analogies with weather systems and environmental drift. M2C is grounded in self-enquiry and time spent outdoors, filtering lived experience into a practice that is both meditative and process-oriented. With visual collaborator Maxim Lucas, they extend this dialogue into a tactile register, creating an interdisciplinary field where sound and image coalesce, each refracting the instability and resonance of the everyday. ‘Stillpoint 37’ is the first single from Raven Bush’s (@allsoundismusic ) new project M2C (@_m2c.audio_ ), and the first track from Scrawl’s (@scrawl_world ) forthcoming compilation ‘String It Together’. The compilation brings together M2C, Siblings of the Earth, Lili Holland-Fricke, FLOCO, Ramilda, Gibrana Cervantes, Jo Paterson, and Zara Hudson-Kozdój, Together, these artists extend the vocabulary of string practice through improvisation, avant-garde chamber music, extended techniques, folk mutation and electroacoustic experimentation, creating a truly eclectic and expansive sonic landscape of contemporary string explorations. The project was mastered by Frederic Stader, with cover art by Hazel Perryman. #MRKR
