Recently I have become engrossed in how repetition can become meditative, and how simple sustained sounds can hold a sense of place, feeling, or memory. Certain sounds can bring me back to a memory, sometimes decades prior, with a clarity that feels physical.
I like the idea that a piece of music can act as a container for that, a place where a memory can sit and return. In that sense, it made the process of making music a necessity, knowing that I could capture moments in a tape loop.
I hope that others can find their own memories in these pieces of music and if not, they can at least provide some solace or meditative inspiration.
