Karlotta Skagfield grew up under the mysteries of the Northern Lights — and that sense of something vast and unknowable never left her.
When Space Rocks asked her to score their official European Space Agency documentary film, Seas of the Sun: The Story of Cluster, she brought that same elemental instinct to the task. Music that had to carry the weight of science without drowning the humanity of the story.
‘I knew the music had to be impactful — but also that it couldn’t overpower the scene.’

We took a week in Tokyo and came back with something unusual: a living, breathing snapshot of a city in motion.. capturing recordings of streets, trains, parks, and passing voices. Then, we took it on a journey of granular processing, stuttered vocal fragments, and ambient pads built from the city’s own harmonic noise.
The result is Tokyo Atmos. Now on @splice INSTRUMENT.
