🥹 Beyond excited to share Phiriya EP (SLINKTIMERS001) out via @slink.nyc and @daytimers_uk March 10 on vinyl and digital. Featuring remixes by @talvinsinghmusic@nahi_mitti@_rrao and @siaminium
This is truly my favorite piece of music I’ve ever worked on. Originally commissioned for artist Shezad Dawood’s “Concert from Bangladesh” film, the fourteen minute title track was produced, arranged and composed in collaboration with an all Bangladeshi crew including Daytimer’s @provhatr , composer / sitarist @nishit_dey , and an all star ensemble consisting of @melodiouslymeera , Moumita Haque, @siaminium , Nazrul Islam and Jawaad Mustakim Al Muballig
In the process of creating this piece, we hoped to trace a through line from centuries old classical raga, to Bengali folk traditions branching into Nazrul Sangeet to the sound of South Asian jungle pioneered by the Asian Underground. Leading up to release, I’ll be sharing more about my incredible collaborators and the process we explored while making this.

E Wata playing live at Club Membrane…nuff said.
…
E Wata is the duo of Enayet and K Wata, longtime collaborators and co-founders of the SLINK collective. Their sound is shaped by late night studio sessions and live improvisation, drifting through wormholes of rhythm and “why not?” arrangements.
Expect deep currents of bass, sharp percussion, and a sense of play that carries dancers into uncharted space.
SLINK x NO MUSIC FOR GENOCIDE 💿🚫
Artists & Record Labels: geoblock your music in Israel! Go to @nomusicforgenocide to learn more and view the over 400 artists/labels who’ve already joined. The action is simple but powerful: request geo-restriction of music in Israel across DSPs.
No Music for Genocide is a new cultural boycott initiative asking artists and rights-holders to remove their music from streaming platforms in Israel in response to its genocide in Gaza; ethnic cleansing of the Occupied West Bank; apartheid within Israel; and political repression of Pro-Palestine efforts wherever we live. This is a decentralized, global volunteer movement with no institutional backer.
This tangible act is just one step toward honoring Palestinian demands to isolate and delegitimize Israel as it kills without consequence on the world stage. The successful cultural boycotts against apartheid South Africa prove that our creative work grants us agency and power. When we wield it together, we add unified pressure to a growing, global, interdependent movement, from Hollywood to the docks of Morocco. We don’t boycott to target individuals: this is a rejection of apartheid Israel’s cultural industry, which works hand in hand with global music and media institutions to whitewash apartheid and genocide.
NO ART FOR APARTHEID, NO MUSIC FOR GENOCIDE. FREE PALESTINE.
