Finally getting time to work on a personal thing for a minute.
It's a modular remote control for props/lighting. Different configurations can be attached like a Nintendo switch controller depending on the use case.
Now if only they would stock the microcontroller that I designed for...
Small silver lining, many expensive (and sometimes obsolete) components can be recovered and used in future projects or repairs. This is the only way to recycle semiconductors efficiently.
Sometimes things are too far gone, usually as a result of poor design.
This effects unit had terrible heat management and as a result every. single. cap. is toast. All 100 of those little silver cans would need replacing, and it just isn't worth the time.
