The contemporary music she composes under her birth name, Vinthya Perinpanathan, is based on ethnographic research into the ancient ritual and ceremonial music of her Tamil-Sinhalese heritage. With unity and transcendence of borders as overarching themes within all her music, Vindya draws on parallels between repetition, percussion and tension. Feb 6th 23:00-06:00 @marcus_l_official (tape set) @tolkachevstanislav (live) @__vindya (DJ) Stanislav Tolkachev (LIVE) Often dubbed as ‘the Ukrainian techno maestro’, Stanislav Tolkachev is an inarguable pioneer of techno. Influenced both by the classic sound of Detroit and the minimalistic style born in Berlin, his music is an ultimate artistic output of continuous exploration and experimentation with psychedelic as well as atonal textures and sounds - tough, twisted yet dazzling. A really rare opportunity to catch him doing a full Live set in London! Marcus L (tape set) Marcus L is a pillar of the Korean Scene. DJ, producer, label boss, booker and creator behind the legendary Faust Club in Seoul. Arguably one of the top techno clubs in the world, he has had an indisputable impact on the techno and clubbing scenes internationally. This Feb 6th he brings his unique tape set to club cheek for a London first! rolling in deeper beats, industrial sonics and warehouse rave to ‘90s acid techno inspirations. We can’t wait to see this. Vindya (DJ) Vindya has been on our radar for a while. A London-based, British-Sri Lankan multidisciplinary artist known for her work as a DJ, professional composer, and violinist. With DJ sets at places such as Tresor in Berlin and the legendary Unfold here in London she has gained prominence for her dark, driven, and soulful techno selections. We caught her playing at Twisted festival a few years back now and we knew she would be perfect to close out this night. Tickets available now via RA. Alba Heidari. Her curated RE:SISTANCE. Friday 7th November. Our Residents night returns. From the moment we first heard @alba.heidari , it was clear our paths would be intertwined. Out of sight of this city’s watchful eyes, many a night would be had dancing toe-to-toe with the majestic shadows that Alba would spark to life with her uplifting, driving grooves. As a student of music with an unrequited respect of the dance floor, a residency at FOLD was always going to be a matter of when, not if, and one that quickly became a reality in 2020. Our milestones have become her milestones; sharing our first festival appearance together, then the second, third and fourth. Last year, we presented her first All Night Long right here in FOLD. Our next RE:SISTANCE is curated in its entirety by Alba Hediari, as she invites those who have inspired her on her journey and share the respect she has for the dance floor. little bit late… just over a week ago I had the honour of opening a party I’d curated as a resident for @twistedhq <3 I wanted to bring @s_mithushan into the booth with me once again to explore combining konnakol and techno some more with this hybrid set ! definitely feels like a work in progress but we had a great timeeee, excited for more experimenting in 2025 !!! tysm @twistedhq for the opportunity to curate !
