🎉 We’re STILL buzzing from the energy of our Grand Reopening of the CCC Design Store this past Saturday at 41 Ross! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us 💥 From an electric Lion Dance kickoff with @liondanceme to a joyful ribbon cutting with community leaders and artists, the day was filled with love, support, and celebration. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the final viewing at @41.ross and the talk with Ho Tam and Winnie. Your presence made this closing event truly special! Highlights: ✨ In an intimate conversation with Professor Winnie Wong, Ho shared the fascinating story behind his Chinese artist name, connecting his past as a social worker to his powerful artistic activism today. ✨ Ho unveiled his newest work - a stunning accordion-shaped book inspired by his recently discovered California family roots, complete with an original poem that moved us all. ✨ The blend of in-person and virtual questions created a rich dialogue that bridged communities across coasts. 📺 If you missed Ho Tam’s (@hotampress ) inspiring closing talk, catch the replay on YouTube — Link in bio! ✨ ✨ ✨ A heartfelt THANK YOU to Ho Tam for transforming 41 Ross into a beacon of cultural connection this past month! Your residency has been more than art on walls—it’s been a powerful reminder of how storytelling can bridge generations and unite communities. From turning our space into a vibrant indie bookshop and gallery to inspiring SF Chinatown’s first Ross Alley Zine Festival, you’ve shown us how print media can be a revolutionary act of cultural preservation and resistance. Your exploration of Asian identity, media representation, and personal discovery resonates deeply with our community’s ongoing story. Special thanks to @asiaartarchiveinamerica for your sponsorship! #41Ross #SFChinatown #ArtistResidency #aalf #cccsf #asianamerican #literature #sfartist #chinatownSF #contemporaryart #zine #hotam

On Nov 16, @BitterParty transformed @41Ross in SF Chinatown into a sanctuary of sound and memory. The LA-based ghost pop band didn’t just perform – they crafted an eclectic, bittersweet sonic journey that left us spellbound! Each song was a portal, weaving personal narratives with forgotten melodies from across Asia, creating an immersive experience that spoke to belonging and resilience. ✨✨✨ And the FINALE! A collective musical celebration rang out as the entire audience joined in to play with the band! 🤩 ✨✨✨ Thank you @BitterParty and @hotampress for bringing magic to our community! ‼️Don’t miss our Artist-in-Residence Closing Talk with Ho Tam on Nov 30th - link in bio! @BitterParty is a Los Angeles-based ghost pop band inspired by war-era music and the melancholy of life. Immersing themselves in the rich repertoire of folk, pop, and obscure tunes from Asia, their performance references the music in each of their pasts through dusty tapes, songbooks, vinyls, and YouTube channels. They re-animate these transmigrated sounds with megaphones, sanshin, and chiptune aesthetics. From Enka to Disco music, Bitter Party’s recent project addresses memory and belonging in response to the recent anti-Asian hate. This programming is a part of the Ho Tam Press @ 41 Ross, a multifaceted platform and cultural hub run by Ho Tam, our current Artist-in-Residence, in collaboration with CCC. #ChineseCultureSF #AsianArtists #LiveMusic #SFChinatown #GhostPop #AsianAmerican #PostcolonialArt #41Ross #HotamPress #SFMusic #SFEvents CCC #BitterParty
