OUT NOW! 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧/ 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭 By Office for Joint Administrative Intelligence (O.J.A.I.) Artistic act of self-institution, as both a conceptual and operational approach: a glossary. 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘵 22 𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘰 via setmargins.press and local bookstores! Self-Institution/Terminology Audit is a collection of profiles and lexicons documenting artistic practices that operate as self-declared institutions. It examines the act of self-institution as both a conceptual and operational approach, focusing on how these practices structure themselves and engage with their contexts. The Terminology Audit reveals language and jargon unique to each practice. The case studies, currently active in the field, represent a broad range of approaches, including research-based, performance-driven, pragmatic, materially motivated, counter-institutional, esoteric, and absurd facsimiles of institutionhood. Introduced by Chris Dreier and Gary Farrelly (O.J.A.I.), featuring an essay by Gary Farrelly, due diligence text by Andrea Knezović, and a responsorial note by Alicja Melzacka. Included self-instituted entities are: The Bureau of Melodramatic Research (BMR), The Office for Joint Administrative Intelligence (O.J.A.I.), Self Luminous Society, Gesellschaft zur Emanzipation des Samples G.E.S, Department of Ultimology, Minister of Cosmic People, Tac.ka Association, KOLXOZ, Pls, I’m Trying to Think Institute (PITTI), This Institute, Aurora-Rhoman Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Relics, AARS (Antwerp Artist Run School), The Letter Space Department (TLSD), Temporary Information Center (T.I.C.). “Right Now, Right Here, Here Now” unfolds through text, voice and sound, materialising as a book, a 7-inch vinyl and a performance. The performance is an unfolding of text through voice. Staged within the exhibition space, it explores the tension between movement and stillness.
.
“Right Now, Right Here, Here Now” is the second part of a trilogy that continues the investigation into how we navigate both physical and non-physical spaces. It explores the ambiguity of language, the uncertain nature of communication, and how these elements shape our understanding of the spaces we occupy. “Right Now, Right Here, Here Now” unfolds through text, voice and sound, materialising as a book, a 7-inch vinyl and a performance. The project explores the fleeting nature of movement, presence and memory, examining how language structures our perception of time and space. The text moves within linguistic structures, oscillating between rhythmic patterns and spatial navigation.
.
The sound piece, recorded between Brussels and Berlin, extends this exploration into the auditory realm, playing with how articulation generates movement and how the ephemeral nature of language resists fixed meaning.

“Here Now” brought together a body of work developed over the past three years. Two series of drawings—“Voices in the Blue” and “from being to doing”—were exhibited alongside the project “Right Now, Right Here, Here Now”, which materialised as a book, a 7-inch vinyl record, a print and a performance. . To bring these elements into dialogue, Evelyn van Overbeke created a scenography that responded to the architecture of the space, particularly the central staircase. Her design worked with and around the staircase, forming a spatial choreography that invited visitors to move through and dwell within the works — to sit, walk, listen, read, watch and lie down. Special thanks to: @julialebraosendra for screen printing the print @quadro.be for framing most of the artworks @astriddestuyver for installing them with care @sophie_vanhomwegen for hosting the exhibition in her artist-run space @_vanhomwegen @C éline Mannens @studioceline for supporting the book and vinyl sales during the opening Pablo for transporting the materials VGC for the sound equipment @accou_laposte for his unconditional love and support . . . . .
