This Saturday from 4-9pm, we have a one night only exhibition at Second Room, Antwerp. This is the first presentation of PUTTEKE (William Ludwig Lutgens, Anna Reutinger, Juan Pablo Plazas, David Bernstein). For “Away Goes Trouble Down The Drain”, we will show a giant drain table where visitors are invited to speak their complaints into. They can release their worries and frustrations into a collective hole. There will be a special cocktail available for the evening called “Ontstopper - Drain Cleaner”. This past Dec, @lara_bongard @mygolem_is_here & I made a performative evening on Judeo-Futurism at @joodsmuseum organized by @mirthe.frese The evening was a humorous, joyful, and critical look at our Jewish future. Grounded in human rights and an understanding that we are all intertwined in this world together, as Judeo-Futurists we celebrate "Doykeit", the Yiddish concept meaning "Hereness". Doykeit says that as Jews, we are home wherever we are. In contrast to Zionism and ethno-nationalism, Judeo-Futurism is based in solidarity and fights for the collective liberation of all people, especially for Palestinians. Our evening at the Jewish Museum in Amsterdam was also about taking a break from the broken reality of the present to imagine an alternative future, a cosmic future that draws from the ancestral wisdom of Judaism. We served up Sour Wandering Jew cocktails; offered anointing oils, protective garlic, special spiraling pastries from historical recipes; and the Psychedelic Tzadik led everyone in pickle play and an exercise in moving from Oy to Joy! A recent drawing I made for @europeanjewsforpalestine for their campaign “Chanukkah for Palestine”. They are raising funds to donate to Green Olive Collective who will replant olive trees in the Nablus District and Masafer Yatta. In 2025 arson attacks by Israeli settlers have already destroyed over 2000 trees in Burin alone. 100% of your donation will go to replanting trees. You can donate via the link in the bio of @europeanjewsforpalestine The drawing shows an intertwined olive tree with a menorah as one of the branches. I chose to make the tree interwoven to symbolize how our struggles for human rights, freedom, safety, and dignity are not something that we fight for alone, but we must be in solidarity with all people to achieve this. We are all interconnected in this world; people, animals, and plants. As Jews we must fight for equality and freedom for all people in Palestine, it is our moral duty. By replanting olive trees, we support this effort in a small but meaningful way to help Palestinian farmers to reroot in the land. Wishing everyone a meaningful holiday time.

The work ‘Something to hold on to’ stayed in China a bit longer without me, hosted by the Dutch Embassy in Beijing. In their entrance hall it welcomed visitors like this and gave them something to hold on to during the meetings they were attending. @dutchculturechina thanks for having us!

I created 3 mobile artworks that were presented in special workshops to communities who don't have access to the art center. We visited a refugee center, a community of deaf and blind people, a prison, and a school. Exploring the new version of ‘Something to hold on to’ by @yesyesbernstein and myself, made in collaboration with and exhibited at @ioam_beijing

Very thrilled to be part of the group exhibition ‘Life Rehearsals’ at @ioam_beijing that opens this Saturday, June 14th and will remain open until October 19th 2025. It will present my work ‘Object voor Opa’ (which was never publicly shown before) and ‘Something to hold on to’ which I made with @yesyesbernstein . We have made new objects for both works by collaborating with local craftspeople in Beijing - remotely from the Netherlands and Belgium, with the help of the museum.
